Non-stop Weekend

Another busy weekend - I'm looking forward to one where we actually get to relax!

Friday after work we took Bandit to go sheep herding. He's still a bit tight on his outruns, but he was starting to feel where he needed to stop and move in on his sheep. I tried the booties too, but they ended up falling off. I'll have to try them again next week.

Elaine and Vicki then came over and we went to go see Batman Begins. Awesome movie, really well done. I wasn't too sure about Christian Bale in the beginning, because he really freaked me out in American Psycho (did you know that it was supposed to be clear that he really killed those people?). But he was really good as Batman. I think I even liked this one better than the first Batman movie.

Saturday we woke up early and went to Steve and Erin's house to babysit the kids, while Steve and Erin went to a wedding. It was fun, but a bit daunting, since we'd never babysat for that long before. We took them to Chuck E Cheese's for lunch, and that was REALLY daunting, because we had a heck of a time keeping up with the two kids. I don't know how parents do it! We also made the mistake of letting Allison eat 4 slices of pizza, which resulted in many poopy diapers afterwards.

It occurred to me while babysitting that when you have young kids, it means you don't get to take naps for a while. If that's the case, I'm not really sure I'm cut out for kids. Maybe I could hire a nanny.

After lunch I had to leave for a bit for my riding lesson. Shawn, the instructor, asked if I had time to come in on Sunday for an extra lesson, but I wasn't free on Sunday. I think he wants to catch me up to the rest of the class, because I'm sort of behind (I still for the life of me cannot figure out how to get my horse to trot).

I came back afterwards, and Marc had already had to change Allison's diaper twice, haha. Poor guy.

After babysitting, we went to Cupertino to meet my family for my grandmother's birthday dinner. After dinner, Leslie went with us to Mercado and we watched Bewitched, which was actually pretty good. It was cute and funny.

Sunday I slept in a bit, and then we went to Jacob's 5th birthday party at the bowling alley. My bowling really sucked. Erin had made Jacob a Scooby-Doo cake, which was pretty neat.

After the party, it was off to my parents' house for yet another dinner. Then we went home, did laundry and stuff, and went to bed. I worked a bit on the new site, and it's getting there. I've got the new MT template almost ready, so hopefully I can finally get this damn thing done before I decide I'm already sick of it.
