Slacking

I'm slacking, I haven't blogged in two days I think. But to my defense, I've also been pretty busy at work.

Not a whole lot going on this week. I had to leave work early yesterday because Marc wasn't feeling well and wanted to go home. I did take Bandit to agility class in the evening, and he was pretty distracted. Sometimes he does really well, where he's paying attention the whole run, and other times I have to grab him in between every obstacle because he's running off to sniff something. Lorie says it's just something that he has to grow out of.

I made exciting progress last night! Exciting for me, anyways (and very lame for everyone else, I imagine). So Bandit's never let me cut his nails, ever since I cut him too close once as a puppy. He literally would run away or even growl when I'd pull the clippers out. So for two years I've been working on trying to get him to feel better about it - by giving him lots of treats when I have the clippers and gradually moving up to where I can touch his nails with the clippers.

Lately I've been able to clip one or two when I'm giving him a bath, because he tends to be more mellow then. This past week I've been bribing him with milkbones, which he gets only rarely, as a reward for grooming and bathing. I don't know why he likes them so much, but he literally starts drooling when I pull them out.

So I'll have the bag of bones out so he knows what's coming, and he would lie down for me with his paws out, like he really, really wanted to let me cut them, but the moment I'd touch his nail with the clipper, he'd move his foot away a little. Poor guy was conflicted, because he really wanted the bones, but he was also really scared of getting his nails clipped. But last night I finally managed to get him to stay still to clip two nails! Woohoo!

I just realized I wrote three paragraphs on clipping my dog's nails. That's pretty sad.

My coworker Christine told me about Google Earth, which is one of those satellite views of Earth thingies. It's much neater than some of the others that I've seen. I even found my old house in Jersey. It looks like they planted a new tree out front.

Well, that's all I can think of to blog today, sadly enough. I'm hopped up on Excedrin and a double mocha, so my brain isn't quite with it right now.
