Normally Friday is my favorite day, but this week it just means I only have one day left before I fly out. I know I really shouldn't be so negative about traveling, but I'm just such a homebody that I hate traveling for work.
Anyways, yesterday I went after work for another extra riding lesson. It went much better than Saturday, where I was starting to get a bit frustrated. Yesterday I think I finally started to "feel" the trot, and managed to do a decent posting trot (moving up and down from a sitting to a standing position while trotting). I even got to do a standing trot, which entails standing in the saddle and leaning forward, and placing the hands on the horse's neck for balance.
So I think the book may have helped! I think on Saturday I was also in a bit of a mood, and they say you can't ride if you're not happy. So yesterday I had a much clearer head, and it was easier to just feel the movement.
The horse I ride most of the time is named Jack, and he's this big gelding (neutered male). Cool horse, whose bottom lip sticks out just so. But over the past few weeks I've learned a lot about brushing, saddling and bridling a horse, since the students are responsible for doing all that themselves, and it's been a lot of fun. I haven't been bitten again either!
Oh, so yesterday I forgot to blog about a funny little Arby's story. Marc and I were getting me dinner, and so we pulled into the drive-thru. Well something was wrong with their speaker, and we could barely hear the guy talking. We managed to give him our order, and then he said something that neither of us could make out. So Marc said, hesitatingly, "I have no idea what you just said...so I'm just going to pull forward..." and then he slowly rolled the car forward to the pick-up window. Maybe you had to be there, but it was hilarious.
I'm working only a half day today, since I have to get home to get all my laundry and packing done. We have a company celebration/picnic (Roche is 100 years old), so I'll be doing that all morning. Have a good weekend all!

Nice new design!!
