Weekend

I'm tired today. It's only Monday and I'm already super tired. This doesn't bode well for the rest of the week.

We switched Bandit's lesson to Friday again, and Jan called us up to let us know that there was a big ice cream social going on at the farm, and asked if we wouldn't mind being part of the herding demo. When we got there, there were a TON of people and their kids. Like kids everywhere. Luckily, they had the people roped off so that they couldn't mess with the dogs, and we didn't really have trouble. I did my demo, which was quick, and apparently amusing to the crowd when Bandit wouldn't leave with me and went to go gather up the sheep again. When we were leaving the field he actually seemed interested in going up to some of the kids that were watching, and wasn't bothered at all by the little ones screaming, "DOGGY!"

After the lesson Leslie came up and we went to go see War of the Worlds. The first hour was really good, very freaky and suspenseful. I think the ending will leave a lot of people disappointed, although I thought it wasn't bad. I can't remember how the book ended, because I read it so long ago.

Saturday I had to get up really early to go to Campbell for my hair appointment. When I got home, I ended up taking a short nap since we didn't have herding.

In the afternoon I had my riding lesson, and I was starting to get a hang of trotting and getting more comfortable in the saddle. My instructor, however, must still think I need a lot of work, because he actually offered to give me an extra lesson a week at no charge, to get me over the hump. So I'll probably go Thursday after work for an extra lesson.

One of the fun parts about the riding is that we saddle and bridle our own horses, and afterwards we're responsible for grooming and hosing them down and returning them to the paddock. Although on Saturday, as I was moving behind my horse to go groom her other side, she farted right at my head.

In the evening we watched Coach Carter, which we rented from Blockbuster. Pretty good!

Sunday I got to sleep in a bit, finally, and then we went to Bill and Brenda's house to have lunch and hang out. It was good to see them, since we hadn't seen them for a long time.

That's about it for the weekend, I better go get some work done now.
