I'm stoked today!
A little over a month ago I signed up at this website for a free Ipod Shuffle. I did a little research on it, and it seemed to be a legitimate company, but I didn't want to blog about it in case it turned out to be a scam and a subsequent huge embarassment for myself. ;)
Anyways, the deal behind the site is that you sign up for a free trial or some other sort of offer (one that I did was for Blockbuster Online, which we're actually keeping). Then you have to get 3 other people to sign up for something. Rather than bug my friends, I "traded" with people - they did a referral for me, and I did a referral for them (on another "free" site).
It took a little effort, but 3 referrals wasn't too hard to get, and my Shuffle (1 GB model) was approved and then shipped. I still wasn't going to believe it until I saw it, and today I did!
I'm soooo excited! It wasn't entirely "free," but it was darned cheap!
Bikes
Marc decided that he'd like to take up cycling for exercise, so this weekend we went bike shopping. I have a mountain bike, but we mostly want to do road biking. So we went to a bunch of shops in our area and in Fremont, before we each found the bike we liked. We ended up getting hybrid bikes, since we didn't want to shell out tons of money for fancy road bikes.
I'll have to take pictures of them tonight.
