Had a busy, but fun weekend. Our Friday night was fairly low-key. We were going to go watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, but couldn't get tickets for the showings we wanted. So Kenny came over, and we rented Charlie and the Chocolate Factory instead. I really liked it. Quirky, but entertaining.
Saturday morning we ran some errands, which included mailing out Bandit's AKC registration (finally). Had lunch, then drove down to Fremont to meet up with my family and with Cynthia and Steve to go to the Big Game. My dad even came along, as did Henry.
The game was awesome. It was at Stanford, but you could've thought it was a home game for Cal. We had way more fans than they did, and their fans were pathetically quiet. I shouldn't say bad things about the Stanford band since my cousin was in it, but they're really pretty awful.
Cal played great, and we beat them soundly, 27-3. Was a nice feeling after last week's loss to SC. Bear Territory baby!
Afterwards we had dinner at Champion Teppanyaki before heading home very, very tired.
Sunday morning we woke up early for the agility fun run up in Dixon. Bandit and I have never been in a "competition" setting before, so this was going to be interesting.
There were two courses - one called a "Jumpers" course, which consists mainly of jumps, tunnels, and weave poles. The other was the "Standard" course, which had all the equipment - jumps, weaves, tunnels, a-frame, dogwalk, teeter, chute, tire jump.
We were on the Jumpers course first, and Bandit did one jump and half the weave poles before he ran off course to go check something out. Then he spotted Marc standing by the course taking pictures, and ran out to go greet him. It seemed like it might be a long day!
Our next course was the Standard course, and he rocked it! We had one minor mistake on our weave poles, but he otherwise was perfect. It was so much fun, I couldn't believe it.
Then we had our second run on the Jumpers course, and I'd picked out a slightly easier course than what was laid out. He did this one nearly perfect too! We got a video of that one here: Jumpers Course
Our last run was a second run on the Standard course, and I was worried because some soccer teams had set up behind us, and Bandit was going nuts watching the balls flying around. Sure enough, we got through two jumps, and he took off for the soccer fields.
So we didn't end on a high note, but 2 out of 4 ain't bad! Anyways, all the pictures are up in the gallery:
