I really love the holidays, and I love buying people presents for Christmas, but every year, I can't seem to get my shopping done early. Marc and I are, year after year, shopping at the very last minute. It's crazy.
I've been pretty bad about blogging this week. It's been sort of a crazy busy week at work, what with year-end reviews and holiday parties and everyone trying to get all their crap done before the holiday shutdown.
My nights are not much better. I had Bandit's agility on Wednesday night (it was COLD). Bandit's stays were horrible for some reason. I'd leave him in a down-stay so that I could go walk the course, and everytime I'd turn around, he would have moved about 10 feet towards me. He'd freeze everytime I turned around, then move when I had my back to him. It was like a game of red light-green light.
Last night I had kitty clinic, and I think I must've done blood draws on like 6 cats. It was fun though.
We had our company holiday party yesterday at the Hyatt in Santa Clara. Well, it was supposed to be a holiday party, but they instead changed it to be a milestone celebration party for one of our programs. So we had to sit through an hour and a half of watching this presentation, and then watching them hand out plaques and checks to the VIPs of the program.
Then they let us into the "party." It was so weird, I don't even know how to describe it. It was a dark room that wasn't that big, and they had hired carnival-like people. There was a lady dressed as a moth, some people doing flexibility shows, some lady with hula hoops, and another lady all dressed up and walking around with a table around her waist. Not to mention some creepy guy yelling who knows what on a megaphone.
It annoys me that our company continues to waste money like this. First, they take away what's supposed to be our holiday party and turn it into something else, and then they spend all this money on some C-grade entertainment and crappy food. Instead, they could have just held the party on campus and spent the money on some good food.
Okay, time to go home and get some shopping done! Happy weekend all!
