Sad

Okay, in news that's truly sad, John Spencer from "West Wing" died on Friday. I was really shocked when I heard the news. I haven't watched the show regularly in a while, but I always liked him on it.

And lastly, Republicans tacked on a provision to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to a defense spending bill that included money for hurricane relief. Classy. Hopefully it won't get past the Senate.

Anyways, we had a pretty good weekend. Went to see King Kong on Friday, which was amazing. It didn't even feel like it was 3+ hours to me. Some parts were a bit superfluous, but I love director's cuts of good movies anyways, so I didn't mind. Naomi Watts did a great job, Jack Black wasn't bad, and Kong was just incredible. I actually cried during a couple parts.

Saturday we did herding in the morning, I went riding in the afternoon, and in the evening we had dinner with my family.

Our plan for Sunday morning was to line up at Best Buy to try to snag a couple more XBox 360's (they were selling their second shipment), but the lines by late Saturday evening were already pretty long. We had no desire to spend a night in line in the cold and the rain, so we scrapped that plan.

Instead, our Sunday was spent mostly staying in from the rain, watching football, and running a couple of errands. In the evening, we went and celebrated Steve's birthday. After we got home, we actually managed to do a little Christmas shopping online.
