Happy New Year everyone! It's been forever since I've blogged, but I usually never get around to it when I'm on vacation, so I guess that's not a surprise. I hope everyone had a good break (if you had one), and a fun New Year's.
I spent my New Year's Eve sick as a dog, although Elaine and Deepali and my brothers still came over and hung out with us. We went to dinner and then watched the countdown at our house. It was a little sad, really. But my brothers brought over some poppers, which completely freaked out the pets - Bandit went and hid in his crate upstairs and refused to come down for the rest of the night. It was fun to hang out with people though, even though I was feeling miserable.
The rest of our vacation was low-key. We had planned to go skiing, but my cold and the nasty weather KO'd that idea. We watched Cal win the Las Vegas Bowl, got some cool presents for Christmas (and made up cute cards with Bandit in a santa hat for everyone), spent a lot of time with family, helped Leslie buy a new car, and watched a lot of movies (King Kong, The Chronicles of Narnia, Munich, Memoirs of a Geisha, Syriana). All were good, although I think the production values for Narnia could have been better. The one movie I didn't get to see that I really wanted to see was Brokeback Mountain, so hopefully we'll get to see that this weekend.
I haven't made any resolutions yet. I think I failed pretty miserably at last year's, so maybe my resolution this year will be to actually accomplish last year's.
Oh, and we managed to adopt out our two foster cats. Well, at least temporarily. Maggie went to a nice family, and she seems to be doing fine. Callie went to an older lady, but it turned out she had teeth problems, and then the lady decided that she didn't realize how much work a cat was, so she was returned to us. But I was glad to finally find Maggie a good home - I think even Marc missed her a little when she was gone.
Okay, more later when it comes to me.
