Swamped

I'm not even sure why we feel so busy. I mean, our weekends lately have been taken up with either doing stuff at the house in Elk Grove or Bandit's things. I haven't been riding in forever, but I used to be busy with that too. So the weekends are nothing new. But for the weeknights, I'm not really sure what's changed, other than that I'm rarely on the computer anymore, and we rarely are just vegging and watching TV.

Last night we made a half-hearted attempt to catch Dory. I dangled some food in the tank, and Marc tried to net her from behind, but she was too fast for us. I told Marc to keep the net behind his back, because if she saw it, she'd hide. He said she wasn't that smart, but sure enough, the instant he flashed it, she was gone.

She's such a mean little thing though. I have these long black plastic tongs that I use to pick up and move things in the tank. Tangs have these sharp spines on the side of their tails (which is why they're sometimes called surgeonfish). She literally comes up to the tongs, rubs her rear against them, and then whaps them with her tail. I'm gonna have to try to remember to videotape it tonight, it's just the craziest thing.

I couldn't find the goby last night. I checked the overflow box just in case he jumped again, and I looked all around the tank, but didn't find anything. Hopefully he's just hiding under a rock somewhere.

I've been looking for a flash and a macro lens for my Rebel. They're just so darned expensive. :( The macro lens especially. But I'd like one so I could take pictures of stuff in the tank. I really have too many hobbies.
