I'm a total bonehead.
So Sunday we had our agility trial in Dixon at the fairgrounds. They were running late, so we sat around for a couple hours before it was our turn to go. We did the jumpers course first. First few jumps went fine, weave poles were a little sticky but we finally got them, and then the judge blew the whistle.
I didn't know what was going on, or what had happened, until the judge pointed at Bandit, WHO WAS STILL WEARING HIS TAGS. In agility, dogs are not allowed to have tags or anything hanging off their collars, because it's a safety hazard. So we didn't even get to finish the course. Stupid, stupid Bonnie. I'd even thought about it earlier that day, but had completely forgotten to actually take them off.
So I took them off right away, and then it was off to the standard course. We had a couple problems on this one. The first disqualifying fault was Bandit "walking" over the last board on the broad jump (it consists of 4 flat boards that the dog has to jump over). Then he went to the teeter, got halfway across, and noticed the sandbag that was holding down the base (it was a really windy day). You could almost see him thinking, "OH, that's new, let me go check it out." So he hopped OFF the teeter, and went to go sniff the sandbag.
Other than that, he ran the course great. He did a PERFECT table this time (last time he wouldn't do it at all). It was awesome. And he ran the rest of it really well.
Oh well, I'm sure we'll get a ribbon someday. :)
Other Weekend Stuff
So Friday I had the day off, and basically slept in until noon. I was going to get up early and take Bandit to practice, but it was raining, so that killed those plans.
Marc worked half a day and came home early, so we ran a bunch of errands in the afternoon. I also watched part of the Cal game (which we LOST). In the evening, we drove to Palo Alto to meet everyone at Buca di Beppos for Cynthia and Vicki's birthdays. After dinner, Marc and I went to Leslie's apartment to drop off a TV for him. That thing was heavy! Or at least it looked that way, as the three guys were moving it. (To be fair, I actually DID help Marc move it out of our house!)
He bought us some Cold Stone ice cream and chocolate cake from PF Chang's as a thank you.
Saturday we went herding in the morning, and did some miscellaneous stuff that I can't even remember. We watched Walk the Line that night, and it was surprisingly enjoyable.
Sunday morning we woke up early to drive up for the trial. Corrie and her husband Steve met us there - we were giving them an extra microwave we had to replace their broken one. We were just appliance delivering people this weekend! I haven't seen Corrie since their wedding, so it was cool to get together again. Bandit was totally in love with the both of them from the get go.
After we got back from the trial, we quickly changed and drove to San Jose for the Sharks game. Marc had been nominated by his boss to get some free tickets to the company penthouse suite, so we got to watch the game in style. It was pretty cool. The Sharks won, 6-5, so that was even better.
Alright, time to go do some work.

I am still hearing echoes of, "Don't you want a puppy? C'mon, weren't the puppies so cute? C'mon, remember when Bandit collapsed in your lap, wasn't that so fun?"
On the other hand, Steve did then say later that night, "Hm, I guess I'll wash these pants. They have dog fur all over them."
P.S. Thanks again for the microwave -- works perfectly!!!!!!
thanks again for the microwave. I wish we could of seen Bandit compete(even with the DQ). Maybe next time. I still want a puppy because they are so dang cute.
You guys are welcome! Thanks for the card and the gift card, you totally didn't need to do that. Marc put the card up on our fridge. :)
