Man, I'm tired of the Oscars. Seems like every year I find them disappointing. Jon Stewart was pretty good though, and it was amusing to see "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp" win Best Song. I was annoying Marc all night singing it, haha.
But seriously, Crash??? I saw four of the nominated films: Crash, Brokeback Mountain, Munich and good night, and good luck. Crash was a surprise to me in that it was even nominated. I liked it, but it was a bit anvillicious in its storytelling. Brokeback was the better picture, and it should've won. I guess the late-surge hype machine for Crash worked though.
At least Ang Lee won for best director, since he was robbed when Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was up for that nom.
I liked George Clooney's speech, and was tickled when Wallace and Gromit won for Best Animated Film.
We were a little less busy this weekend. Marc went up to Elk Grove on Saturday to finish cleaning up the rest of the house (they also managed to sell/donate all the rest of the furniture), and I took Bandit sheep herding, then went to have dinner with my family. Marc didn't get home until 11!
Sunday we went to Fremont to have brunch with my family at the Hilton for my birthday. It was GOOD. Crab legs and waffles with whipped cream and strawberries, YUM! Not together, of course. ;)
Okay, meeting time!
