Yesterday after work I went and picked up a bunch of live rock (200 pounds of it - though I'm only keeping 125) from a guy who was tearing down his reef. Relatively speaking, it was super cheap - $1/pound - because buying live rock from the fish store costs about $5-$6 a pound. Crazy.
I still managed to get home before Marc, who was working late. When I pulled up, I found our neighbor cutting our lawn! I told him he really didn't need to do that, and he said, "Oh it's no problem, I've been doing it." He said we had enough to do right now, and it was the least he could do. I thanked him profusely.
I called Marc up and told him about it, and he said, "Holy crap, so THAT'S why our lawn has stayed so short!"
The rocks were pretty stinky by the time we got them out of the car and in the house. They had been in water, but I couldn't move the water, so the rocks were dry for the trip. In that time, every critter that had been in the rocks migrated out into the bottom of my trash cans. There were some HUGE, nasty looking bristle worms. Think giant earthworm/centipede like things. Like this one but not nearly as big, thankfully. I should've taken a picture, but I was too grossed out. I hosed them out in the backyard.
My coworker Christine sent me a link to this video, which is hilarious. Love it. Asian Backstreet Boys
Hope everyone has a good weekend! I'm not looking forward to herding in 100 degree heat tonight, but I don't think Bandit will mind. Sunday I'm going riding with a few friends, so I'm looking forward to that, because I haven't been on a horse in over 6 months (the stable I was taking lessons at is no longer open - which is a long story in itself).
