Weekend

Well, I didn't quite get everything done on my list this weekend (to be honest, I can't remember what exactly was on my list from Friday). We didn't get the blinds up, but we DID start on cleaning out the fish room (can you believe we have to clean already?).

Marc and I moved the fish and their temporary tank to the living room (we need to clear out the fish room to start pulling up carpet and such). I pumped most of the water out, but it was still heavy as hell. I think I actually tweaked my back a bit lifting it. I mean, this thing was HEAVY.

So probably tonight Marc and I will start pulling up carpet in that room. We got an estimate this weekend for getting the floor in there done with an epoxy finish, but it was way expensive. So I think we'll probably try to do it ourselves.

Part of the reason we didn't get as much done this weekend was because we had a mishap while trying to install a new thermostat. Marc changed it out, but when we went to turn on the AC, nothing happened. Same thing with the heater. We swapped the old thermostat, and nothing worked either. It was, of course, freaking hot that day. Uh oh.

Luckily, our furnace actually had LED codes, sort of like the mobo/boot codes on a computer. It was blinking two short-four long, which meant that there was a short circuit somewhere. After a little research on the internet (Google is so the bomb - hey, does anyone use that anymore? "The bomb?") I found out that the short was likely being caused by a bad fuse.

A couple new fuses later, and we got it working again, but only with the old thermostat. So we're not sure what's up with the new one. It's possible it's not compatible at all, or that whatever caused the fuse to blow also shorted something out in the thermostat.

So we'll have to try to get another thermostat. That whole ordeal was basically no fun at all. No AC and it was 100 degrees outside, and we were crawling around in the attic with the damn furnace.

We did go see Pirates of the Carribean this weekend. I thought it was okay - the first was great, I think, because I didn't know what to expect from it. This one was a little disjointed. It did have some laugh-out-loud moments though, all from Johnny Depp of course. There was one scene that almost had me in tears.

Lastly, I came across one of those meme things in a couple blogs today - you bold the TV shows you've seen at least 3 episodes of, and bold and italicize the ones you've seen all the episodes of. You can also add shows to the list.

I think it's entirely possible that I watch too much TV. I added "The Bionic Woman" and "Hogan's Family." There were a couple other shows I thought of, but was too lazy to add.

I am curious as to which scene had you in tears!

It was the scene where Captain Jack had the wooden spit rod tied to his back, and the whole series of events that followed. :)

LOL -- yes, I was laughing pretty audibly at that scene, too! The other one I was probably laughing too loud for my neighbors was when Elizabeth was spitting mad and those related events as well...

How could you not at least bold Beavis & Butthead?!?!

Truly a classic of our time that will last generations!!

Sadly, I think I've only seen one episode of Beavis & Butthead - during the time it was on TV, we didn't have cable, so no MTV. :(

Lots of shows on there that I've seen, but not 3 whole episodes of.
