Wow, I think I haven't blogged in over a week now. Slacker.
There really hasn't been much to blog about lately - the unpacking has ground to a screeching halt, as I think both Marc and I are tired of dealing with boxes. At this point we're mostly living normally, but occassionally having to grab things from the remaining boxes left unpacked. I think most of the boxes we haven't unpacked yet are those that were never unpacked from our LAST move, so you can tell that they contain very important things. Not.
I've been slowly putting contact paper in all the kitchen cabinets. I never did it for our last house, because everything was brand new, and nothing was "icky." I did make the mistake of assigning one particular cabinet to be for our drinking glasses - it seems that this cabinet used to house some particularly pungent spices. Marc poured me a glass of lemonade one day, and it was a bit shocking when I went to take a sip, because the glass just stunk.
We ordered some new vertical blinds, and those arrived yesterday. The Pergo floors are supposed to arrive today.
I haven't even started work on the fish room, because I'm still trying to figure out a few things. I'm hoping I can at least get some stuff started this weekend.
Steve and Erin moved this past weekend (they bought a new house in San Ramon, so they're closer to us now!). We stopped by and took the kids out for ice cream. Their neighborhood is awesome, and the house is really nice!
We didn't do much for the 4th. Normally we have a party and invite friends and family over, but having just moved, we decided not to do anything this year. It was interesting being in the house with the pets for once (normally we're outside doing fireworks). They didn't much care for the fireworks going on outside. Bandit was a bit freaked by the safe-and-sane ones, but the M80s that our neighbors were setting off sent him right under the bed. The cats didn't seem to care at all.
So my to-do list for this weekend is going to be getting the vertical blinds up, starting on the floor of the fish room, and getting some photos up on the site. We'll see how much of that gets done!
