We had a special pickup this morning - basically you can fit as much junk as you can in a 9'x4'x5' space, and the garbage people will take all of it. So Marc and I riffed through the garage and pulled out everything and anything that needed to be thrown away.

Our sturdy Golden Bear,
Is watching from the skies,
Looks down upon our colors fair,
And guards us from his lair.
Our banner Gold and Blue,
The symbol on it too,
Means FIGHT! for California.
For California through and through!
3 more days until Tennessee! GO BEARS!
My day got off to an inauspicious start this morning. Marc's did too, for that matter.
Just got back from visiting my mom at the hospital, and she is doing much better today!
Well, the good news on my mom is that her blood levels are slowing going up to normal, and they felt safe enough to take her off the ventilator. Right now the thing that's keeping her from leaving the ICU is the fact that she's extremely agitated when she's not under sedation.
I think I haven't blogged in a few days, mostly because I've been a bit mentally exhausted - my mom has been in the hospital since Friday.
I didn't get any work done on the fish tank stand, but it was kind of a hectic, busy weekend.
OMG, this is just awesome. Dog Rides Bike. This is way better than the skateboarding bulldog.
Marc was finally able to talk to the vet, who had spoken with the pathologist regarding Snoopy's tumor and treatment.
Just a couple bits for today:
FINALLY got around to getting pictures of the fish room uploaded. I took pictures of the floor last night, in poor light, so they kind of suck. But we were finally able to walk on the floor last night, and upon closer inspection I realized that I did a crummy job of distributing the paint chips evenly. Sigh.
Marc and I managed to get a big part of the fish room done this weekend.
I wasn't going to blog today, because I didn't have anything to really blog about, but I came across this link that was just too fascinating to not share:
Yesterday evening we went and picked up Snoopy, and got a chance to speak with the vet regarding his test results.
To add to my work-internet Saga of Grand Annoyance, I discovered yesterday that while I'm still able to access gmail and Yahoo! mail, I can't send file attachments, nor can I receive them. I can understand them not wanting me to receive any, but darn it, I should be allowed to send them.
I guess the new cover of BabyTalk magazine is raising a bit of a furor, as people are quite upset about the picture:
This is too funny - there's a music video about preserving net neutrality. They've rounded up a few of the (nutty) web icons and created this video that's both hilarious and frightening.
Remember the Peter Pan guy? Yup, he's in there.
And the Asian Backstreet Boys make a cameo!
The sad thing is that I recognize everyone/everything in this vid except for the gem sweater lady.
This week has been pretty draining work-wise, so I'm glad it's Friday, and that today is going to be a pretty low-key day.
Just read this article on CNN:
Chinese county culls 50,000 dogs.
Apparently they're having a big rabies scare. "Dogs being walked were taken from their owners and beaten to death on the spot." Holy crap!
The shelter got dumped on with a LOT of kittens yesterday, all of which were going to be euthanized if they didn't get into foster homes, so in my infinite wisdom I volunteered to take over some kittens of another lady so that she could take more from the shelter.
Yesterday was quite an unproductive day (although at work I was very busy). But I basically came home, had dinner, played games on the computer, and then we took the dogs for a walk before bed. I accomplished nothing!
