Can we just forget this past Saturday even happened? I keep trying, but it's not working. Last night, I couldn't fall asleep because all I could think about was the God-awful shellacking Cal suffered on Saturday. I mean, this was Monday night, and I still couldn't sleep. How sad is that?
I totally could have handled a loss if it had been close, or if we'd at least played well and hard. But it was the crappiest game I've ever seen in the Jeff Tedford era. Even the Holiday Bowl was a fun time in comparison.
I'm not even going to bother to rehash all the problems, mostly because I think most people reading won't care anyways. And, it's just football, right? Except that I'm pretty sure that no team that I root for will ever win a championship. Case in point? I started following the Giants back in '93, when they won over 100 games, and STILL lost the pennant to the Dodgers. And then there was the '02 World Series, which they almost certainly should have won, but didn't.
Not that I expect Cal to win an NC, but the Rose Bowl would be nice, and now I'm not so sure about that. I guess we'll find out more this coming Saturday, and see which team shows up.
We spent a lot of time at the hospital on Saturday and Sunday, and Sunday evening we had dinner with Jan (herding trainer). She thought she needed help setting up her new DSL, but it turned out she was just using the Yahoo! browser instead of plain 'ol IE. We brought Bandit with us too, and he had a good time hanging out with her dogs and playing with all their toys.
Monday morning Marc and I went out to pick out a new coffee table for the family room, and then we went to visit my mom. She was really cranky, because she was tired of hospital food. The doctors said she could eat regular food, and Kenny was supposed to bring some, but he got held up helping my grandmother. When he did finally show up with the food, her mood was suddenly much better.
We still don't know when she'll get to go home, because they're still trying to get her blood levels closer to normal and more stable before they let her go.
Monday night we had dinner with Steve and Erin and the kids at their house. It was funny - before we ate, I was playing Tiger Woods golf with Jacob on the PS2. He was picking a course to play, and he said, "We'll pick an easy one for you, Aunty Bonnie." And everytime after I'd hit a shot, he'd say, "hit 'X'" to get me to move onto the next screen quicker. The whole time he was giving me pointers on how to play too - and then I'd hit a bad shot, and he'd say, "I told you not to hit it in the red." He pretty much kicked my butt.
Hope everyone else had a good weekend. Our was way too short. :)

Glad to hear your mom is better! Cranky is good! :) I just hope they figure out what's wrong soon so that she can leave the hospital.
I didn't get to watch the Cal game, and I'm glad, because when I saw the score ... sigh ...
Take care Bonz!
