THAT'S More Like It!

Well, this weekend was far more enjoyable than the last one!

Marc and I didn't do much Friday night. Bandit's herding lesson was cancelled, so we had dinner and then went down to my parents' house to visit my mom. She's still regaining her strength, and not able to walk too much, but she seems to be doing well.

We totally overslept on Saturday. I can normally sleep until whenever, if left alone, but usually Marc wakes me up at a decent hour. This time, we both slept until 10:40. Which was unfortunate, because I was supposed to drop off Kuma at an adoption fair at 11. So while I got ready, Marc took Kuma for me.

We had lunch, and then waited a bit for my brothers to arrive, as the four of us were going to take BART together up to the Cal game. I wanted to go a bit early, because the shirt I wore last weekend was very obviously NOT lucky, and I needed a new one. They finally started selling jerseys fitted for women, so I bought one at the student store and wore it for the game.

The game itself was awesome. We sat on the alumni side this time, which was a bit quieter, but it was also cool to hear the band and student section more loudly (the side opposite always sounds louder than the side you're on). I yelled until my throat hurt, and at times the crowd got so loud we caused Minnesota to false start. The best was when they were at 4th and 1, and false started, which forced them to punt.

At one point, a number of rows below us, some teenager started screaming at the couple sitting behind him because apparently someone said something to his mom. He actually had to have someone physically restrain him. You'd think his mom would try to calm him down, but she was too busy mouthing off to the other people.

The game started out a little shaky, as Minnesota scored first, and later managed to tie the game at 14. But Cal started to pull away after that. DeSean Jackson scored 3 touchdowns - his number is 1, same as my jersey! So for now, I think I have found my game day attire.

Marc thinks I'm crazy.

By the time we got home, it was pretty late (the game didn't start until 4 pm). We were going to pick up Kuma from one of the other fosters, but it turned out she got adopted! Supposedly it was a nice family that adopted her, along with another kitten from the SPCA. I'm glad she found a home finally, because if she stayed with us any longer, Marc and I might have decided to keep her!

Sunday morning we got up at a more respectable time. We went to the mall, and bumped into Steve and Erin and the kids. We also sat down for a Cinnabon, and watched some lady taking a math test for an employment application, but using her cell phone calculator to do it.

In the afternoon, we went to Cynthia and Steve's engagement party. They had TONS of food, and I think I may have only sampled a fraction of it.

That was it for the weekend - I feel kinda lousy today, and not just because it's Monday. Wish I could just go home and lay in bed all day, hehe.

Hee ... I actually don't watch games if they are doing well during the time I wasn't watching. That's what I did for the last game ... only checked the score online at pre-set intervals (no cable meant I couldn't watch it). Of course, I didn't see any of the Tennessee game, so that wasn't my fault!

:)
