Happy Halloween everyone! We had a little party over the weekend - we weren't originally planning on doing anything, but when it seemed like no one had made plans already, we decided to throw something together.
It was a lot of fun! I made some halloween cupcakes, fresh quacamole and chips, spinach dip, and we ordered Zachary's pizza for dinner. The kids wore costumes, but none of the adults did, since it was all pretty short notice.
We had a pumpkin carving contest, although the patterns this year were a bit disappointing. There weren't a whole lot of difficult ones, and I like to do those. Still, I thought mine was cute. :) Everyone did a really nice job, and we had a judging contest afterwards. Henry didn't carve a pumpkin, so he picked the winners. Leslie's sister and her boyfriend got first place, and Elaine's pumpkin got second. Marc's pumpkin was really good, but as the hosts, neither he nor I could win. Kenny couldn't win either, since he did the same pattern as last time.

Bill and Brenda and Steve and Erin and the kids all had to leave early, so I wasn't able to get pictures of their pumpkins. Erin helped Jacob with his pumpkin, and it turned out really nice! Bill's pumpkin didn't turn out so hot - his wolf ended up missing an eye, hehe.
We ended up staying up until 2:30 am, and by that time thanks to daylight savings, it was 1:30 am again!
Marc and I are on vacation this week (although I have to work on Friday), and we're using the time to get stuff done around the house. We're hoping to finish off the fish tank project. We had a little setback yesterday, which put us a full day behind, and I'll blog about that tomorrow.
In the meantime, I'm gonna see if I have enough time to carve another pumpkin for the trick or treaters tonight. :)
Impressive! I gotta ask -- was the Cal/bear one from a pattern or was it made up? It's pretty cool!

I think Kenny printed out the logo, and then made a tracing from it. Turned out pretty nicely!
