Time to blog about what we did the rest of the week! (Which was not much.)
I totally forgot to take pictures of the outside of our house, which is a shame, because Marc did a pretty good job of decorating it last Friday. We had gone shopping for last-minute decorations last week, only to find that most of the stores were pretty cleaned out.
Still, we managed to get some good stuff, including these eyeballs that lit up that you could stick in bushes so it looked like eyes were peeking out at you. We also got this rubber cat that looked pretty real - real enough that our own cats were circling and sniffing it, and real enough that Bandit was totally freaked out by it.
Marc got this skull and crossbones curtain thing to hang in front of the porch, and we got a fog machine and had our strobe light going.
For the trick or treaters I left the front porch light on, even though we had lots of decorative lights, mostly because I didn't want to freak out the little ones too much. We had a lot of kids come through! I think we ended up going through 3 bowls of candy.
Bandit got lots of biscuits, as I had him tied up in the kitchen where he could see the kids, but be far enough away as to not get too freaked out. I'd toss him two biscuits everytime the doorbell rang. He actually ate so many that towards the end of the night he was sick of them, and stopped eating them.
One of the funniest kids that came by were these two little girls (I think they were twins) that were probably about 2 years old. They were dressed like little ladybugs, it was too cute. I put candy in one girl's bucket, and then I put candy in the other girl's bucket, and that girl goes and pulls another lollypop from my candy tray. Her mom was like, "no no no" and puts it back in the tray. She grabs it again, and her mom puts it back again.
Well, in all this "commotion," the first girl must have either forgotten that I had given her candy, or not seen me do it in the first place, because as her mom and her sister were about to walk away, she's still standing there, alternately staring at her candy bucket and at me with a frown on her face. Then she goes, "ehh ehhh..." and I'm thinking, oh crap, she's getting upset. Her mom quickly goes, "You got your candy, it's okay!" and whisks her away.
This little two-year old had totally thought I had jipped her, haha. She looked so verklempt, it was hilarious.
Our neighbors brought their kids by, which was really cute too, because their two-year old was like, "Hey, I know you!" We had lots of kids comment on how much they liked our fish and decorations too. Some kids were downright nosy! I'd be handing out candy, and they'd totally be unabashedly peering around me into the house. One kid was like, "They've got fish...they've got cats...and they've got a dog too, wow."
Anyways, what else did we do...oh, we finally got a new thermostat for the house, and this one actually worked. Our heater was actually not working with the old one for some reason, but when we put the new one in, it started working fine. We also bought some track lighting for the family room, which we'll probably install this weekend. I'm hoping to have enough done on the fish tank that we can start working on the floors this weekend too. We'll see, that's being pretty ambitious.
Cal/UCLA game this Saturday! Weather forecast says no rain, so hopefully that'll stay true. Here's hoping for a fun game!

Wow, you have been busy! Hee, trick-o-treaters are fun, we had a bunch of cute kids too. And I got lots of compliments on my pumpkin, thanks to your party!
Go Bears! See you Saturday Bonz!
Fun trick-or-treat stories. I laughed at Bandit being sick of biscuits.
