I managed to catch Marc's cold over the weekend, so yesterday I stayed home sick from work. I'm feeling better today, although I brought a box of kleenex with me.
I started to feel it Friday night, when my throat was feeling a bit sore, and I was getting a bit congested. I took some Airborne, but I think by then it was too late. When I woke up Saturday, I didn't really feel much better.
I took Bandit to go work sheep that morning - Jan was running a bit late, so we had to wait for her, and the dog was going nuts. We were sitting in the car, waiting, and the whole time he's looking at the sheep and whining and pawing at me. He's so fanatic about it, it's crazy.
In the afternoon, we took BART up to the Cal/UCLA game. It was pretty cold! We met up with my brothers at Top Dog, and then walked up to the stadium. Deepali and Will and Marian and her boyfriend were also coming up to the game, but we weren't all sitting together (I did manage to see Deepali as we were all leaving).
It was a great game. I wish we'd rolled up 40+ points on them, but 38 isn't bad. It's always good to beat UCLA.
It was funny, when DeSean Jackson returned a punt for a TD, I was jumping and screaming my head off, and the guy in front of me turns around and looks at me. I thought he was annoyed about me screaming in his ear, so I apologized, but then he held up his hand, and he had my phone in it! Somehow it must have jumped out of my pocket, and he caught it. I don't know how, but I'm glad he did!
Anyways, after the game I started to feel really lousy. My cold was just coming on full force at that point. We got home, and I pretty much went straight to bed.
Sunday we stayed in and really did nothing. I slept a lot, mostly because I was pretty sick, and Marc watched football all day. We did a little work on the fish tank wall (got all the trimwork up - I'll take a picture tonight).
Monday I still felt yucky, so I decided to just stay home and sleep.
Today I'm better - my voice is getting back to normal, so that's good. It's election day, thank goodness. Mostly I'm thankful that after today, we won't have to hear any more campaign ads for a while. I can't believe how many phone calls we've gotten over the past couple weeks.
Soapbox alert! I'm mostly going to the polls today to vote for Jerry McNerney. I hope, hope, hope that Richard Pombo isn't re-elected to Congress. I can't stand him, and not just because he's a Republican (I at least had respect for Pete McCloskey - and he's endorsing McNerney), but because he's such a slimeball. He wants to drill in ANWR, sell off National Park land, is a proponent of offshore drilling, has fought to gut the Endangered Species Act, and was named one of the 13 most corrupt congressmen by an independent group (thanks in large part to his ties to Jack Abramhoff and the fact that he funnels large parts of his campaign contributions to his wife's "salary").
I'm having a harder time deciding on a lot of the propositions. Except for 85, which I will definitely be voting "NO" on. I can understand parents wanting to know, but the biggest consideration here has to be those girls who are being abused by their father or step-father. If that's how they got pregnant, how in the world can you expect them to have to notify their abuser? There's no way to make an exception here either, because the girl would have to prove the abuse first, and by that time, it may be too late. It's also easier said than done. It's a bad, dangerous idea.
Okay, off my soapbox, and back to work!

Jerry McNerney is an ex-client of mine - LOL. It's fun to see him actually be "in the running" this time around.
Glad you are feeling better Bonz. I screamed so hard after that punt return that my throat was sore all the next day! I sounded sick ... hee! :)
