Weekend

I think my blogs have been boring lately - mostly due to us working on the same damn projects, I think. This weekend was kind of more of the same.

Marc had a holiday party for work on Friday night. It didn't start until 7, so we went to the mall beforehand. I stopped by Sephora to pick up some lip gloss. When it rang up at the register for $16, Marc said, "That little thing cost $16??? It looks like it shouldn't cost more than $4!" I said, "Dear, you're not going to find anything in here that costs $4."

As we walked out of the store, I noticed Marc studying the shelves. "You're looking for something that costs $4, aren't you," I said. He frowned and nodded and muttered something about ridiculous makeup prices.

The party was good - they had a casino night there, and they gave every person $250 in chips to start off with. Marc played roulette, and I went and played blackjack. I was doing pretty well, and I had gotten up to $650, when Marc came over, having lost all his money at the roulette table. Since it was getting late, I gave him $500 worth of chips to continue playing with. His eyes went wide, and he scurried back to the roulette table.

Well, it didn't take him long to blow through those chips! I ended up getting up to $450 with the $150 I was playing with, and then I decided to just stop. I gave Marc my chips to finish off. He came back a few minutes later with $1000! The chips were redeemable for raffle tickets, but since we weren't going to be staying late enough for the drawing, we just divvied the chips up among his coworkers.

Saturday morning I took Bandit herding. Jan had me take him around the farm to try to get him to run out some energy beforehand. He had such a blast. There's a creek that runs through the farm, and Bandit was just romping through the water. He was so amped up he was just zooming everywhere. It didn't really seem to sap much of his energy though, because he was just as cranked up as usual when we started working on the sheep.

Kenny came over in the afternoon to help with the kitchen cabinets. He and Marc managed to get everything sanded and primered, so now all that's left to be done is to put on the topcoat of paint, and for us to buy hardware.

I worked on the fish tank plumbing ALL weekend. It's still not done, although I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. A couple more nights work, I think, and it should finally be complete. Trying to fit all the plumbing and equipment under the stand is what takes so long. I really hate gluing this stuff together - you have to push the pieces pretty hard to get them all the way in, and you have about 3 seconds to do it before the glue sets. Once that stuff sets, those things aren't budging.

Sunday Marc and I squeezed in some time to put up Christmas decorations on the house. We couldn't get it all done before it got dark, but we got most of it up. I will definitely have to take a picture when it's all done!

Alright, work beckons. I hate Mondays.
