Another work week just about done and over! I actually managed to get a few things accomplished last night.
I finally got the ozone hooked up on the fish tank (ozone helps to act as a sterilizer and also breaks down organic waste in the tank). Both tangs have ich pretty bad at this point, so I'm hoping the ozone will help. If someone could develop something that would safely and surely treat marine ich in a reef tank, they would be rich I tell you.
I just have to be careful with the ozone because it can be pretty toxic stuff if it leaks out. Luckily it does have an odor, so I'm just keeping my nose out for any smells.
We also had someone come by to look at the old fish tank setup, and he decided to buy it! I still had sand and water in it, so I'm going to clean that out tonight, and the guy is supposed to pick it up tomorrow. Hopefully he won't flake. It's so funny, I think like 80% of the people I've met through this hobby are Asian. There must be something about us and fish.
I did manage to make my first mini flood in the fish room too. I had the water filter filling up a water jug while the guy was over checking out the tank, and I lost track of it during that time. After he left, Marc and I discovered a nice little puddle on the floor. Luckily, we had the wet-dry vac right there!
I mixed up a batch of some homemade calcium and alkalinity supplement for the tank too - the storebought stuff is super expensive, so this should save us a lot of money.
Lastly, I finally went and installed the World of Warcraft expansion -4 freaking discs, crazy. Then I played for about an hour before going to bed.
I was a busy bee yesterday!
Random sidenote - I love celebrity gossip as much as the next person, but I am soooo tired of celebs acting like douchebags and then making these grandiose public apologies that are so self-serving. Mel Gibson, Michael Richards, and now some guy from "Grey's Anatomy". They say something stupid and mean, and then go blame it on something, like alcohol or "rage", and then offer to "meet with the leaders of the community I have hurt, blah blah blah." Really, just man up and apologize to the person you owe an apology to, stop trying to blame something to make it seem like you didn't really mean what you said, and cut it with the big PR stunt "meetings." It's so lame.
Alright, that's it outta me for today - hope everyone has a good weekend!

Wow, you have been busy!
Re. Asian and Fish: Maybe it's from growing up staring at the fish/lobster/crab tanks in Chinese restaurants?
That's a possibility. I have often wondered what Dory would taste like.
