Back from Palm Springs as of yesterday - meant to blog, but it's been pretty hectic here at work.
I had a good trip - I was down there for a conference called Laboratory Automation, which is basically an exhibition of different companies that sell automated lab equipment. Got to chat with a number of vendors and see a lot of cool toys.
The weather in Palm Springs was nice, although it rained a bit on Tuesday. Other than that, it was downright warm, and I was fairly overdressed with all my sweaters. It was a nice break from the chilly weather up here.
We also got a Mustang for a rental car, which was fun. I always like getting fun cars for rentals - one time Budget had a special on pickup trucks, so I rented a Ford Ranger. :) Anyways, it was a red Mustang - really cool to drive, especially since I'd never really driven the new ones before.
Since the exhibits didn't open up until 10am, I got to sleep in more than usual. Monday morning I had planned to wake up at about 8, but my cell phone rang at 7:45. It turned out to be one of my coworkers, who said, "Hi Bonnie, sorry to bug you, are you in a meeting?" I said no, and told her I was actually just waking up. Turns out she thought I was traveling on the East Coast!
Anyways, I flew back Wednesday afternoon, and Marc picked me up. He wasn't feeling too great, so when we got home, the two of us both took a long nap before I had to take Bandit to agility.
One funny thing that happened on Sunday before I left - Marc and I drove up to Oakland to pick up a big coral piece from some guy. We chatted with him for a bit and then left. When we got back home, I had an e-mail from him that said, "I know this might sound weird, but what was your husband's name again? Is he from Fremont?" Marc then realized that the guy's name DID sound familiar, and it turned out that they were both in the same class in high school. Small world - although I swear it's like Marc knows everyone, because this seems to happen a lot.
Well, it's good to be home, and I'm looking forward to this weekend and the Super Bowl!
