I got yet another unpleasant surprise with the fish tank yesterday - an invasion of flatworms. I'm finally starting to win the fight against the dinoflagellates (knock on wood), so it figures that some other annoying pest would have to take its place.
Please for the love of all that is good and holy and musical, STOP VOTING FOR SANJAYA, PEOPLE!!! I didn't expect him to get voted off, but TO NOT EVEN BE IN THE BOTTOM THREE??? There is something so FUBAR'd with this show.

I picked up Marc from work at about our usual time yesterday, but it seemed like we got home early, and had a lot of time in the evening. It was weird.
Seeing as how we have already gone through 2 boxes of Samoas, and are now down to 8 remaining, I don't think we bought enough cookies. Freezing them is obviously not going to be an issue, they'll be long gone before they go bad. Of course, the money we saved from buying even more cookies can now be used to buy new pants for my rapidly growing ass.
I'm exhausted for some reason this morning (not that it's unusual for a Monday morning, but today I can barely stay awake) despite already having had a full cup of Peet's.
Dear Girl Scouts: It has been three days since my last Samoa cookie. The situation is quickly turning dire, and I am not sure how much longer I can hold out. Please send cookies soon. Shortbread will not be sufficient.
While it amazes me that the Postal Service is able to keep track of and deliver mail in the volume that it does, it equally amazes me how incompetent parcel delivery can be. I mean, unlike regular mail, all this stuff is labeled and barcoded, so how can it be that it still gets lost so easily?
So, out of desperation (knowing that cookie sales were ending soon), I put in a request at the Girl Scout website to be contacted about purchasing cookies. I finally got an e-mail from them yesterday, and we placed the following order: 10 boxes of Samoas, 3 Thin Mints, 1 Tagalongs, and 1 All Abouts. I think maybe, possibly, this is too many cookies, but as they say, better to be safe than sorry! (I mean, we are already out of Samoas, and down to half of the Thin Mints.) At least they have 0 trans fat now, hehe.
Marc and I bought 3 boxes of Girl Scout cookies over the weekend - one box of Thin Mints, and two boxes of Samoas - and I think we already need more. Trouble is, according to their website (yes, I checked), they stop selling them in our area on the 25th. Time is running out!
We sold our old washer (and dryer!) last night for a steal (although I basically priced it out according to what others were asking on CL). But we got rid of them quickly, and that's what we wanted. Hooray for Craigslist.

Well, the warm weather we've been having the past few days is already affecting the fish tank, which yesterday hit 84 degrees, higher than I'm comfortable with.
Our old tripod broke some time ago, so I haven't been able to use my macro lens very successfully since. We bought a new one last night, so I got to play around a bit.
What was supposed to be a mostly stay-at-home weekend turned out to actually be pretty busy!
First, congratulations to our friends Bill and Brenda whose baby girl, Mia, arrived yesterday! I think it's safe to say she was born on the best day of the year. ;)
