New Computer

| | Comments (3)

I broke down and bought a new computer yesterday. It was either that, or buy a new power supply for my current one, and that seemed sort of a waste considering that I was probably going to upgrade this one soon anyways.

I ended up ordering an XPS 410 (not the bling 710) machine from Dell - I probably could've used coupons to save more on a Dimension machine, but none of them came with the video card I wanted as an option. So it was XPS for me. I think it's a pretty decent machine - Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, 2MB RAM, Nvidia GeForce 7900 GS graphics card, 250GB HD. The only thing that sucks is that it'll be a while before it arrives.

Last night I actually cooked dinner (I know, someone mark this down), and it turned out pretty decent. I can't remember what the dish was called - it was basically chicken that was pan fried, then cooked with tomatoes and bacon.

I also went to the pet food store and bought some really cute fresh-baked dog treats, and last night I baked some brownies as well. Both are for my agility class tonight (which hopefully won't get rained out), because you're supposed to bring snacks for the class when you finish a title. I'll probably pick up some cream puffs from Whole Foods today too.

In between all that we managed to watch some "American Idol." I didn't see Phil's performance, but I didn't need to to know that he sucked. He and Haley MUST be the next two to go (I have given up on wishing for Sanjaya to leave, as we know he'll be around until at least these two go, and he doesn't offend my sensibilities like the other two do). Haley cranked up the skank quotient a notch by dressing like a full-on hooker, probably realizing that her vocals were going to be even more craptastic this week than the last. I love that Simon called her on it. It's at least entertaining to see what sort of train wreck she's going to be each week though - Phil is just creepy and boring, and needs to go first. Anyways, I voted for Melinda three times last night, just in case.

Okay, work beckons. I'll be back tomorrow, to grouse about the AI results, I'm sure.

Ha Bonnie! I'm looking to buy a dell xps too! How funny! I just spent yesterday playing around with options, but I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy it next week. My keyboard is getting bad (the "o" doesn't work unless I press it at the top right corner, hee) and my laptop is getting on in years, and is so slow ... but it's still working fine so I'll probably keep it around still. :)

My brother's Dell came a lot sooner than the estimate, as did my original one. So, who knows, maybe yours will arrive two weeks earlier too. :)

Bonnie's dish was sooo yummy last night that I nominated her as head chef from here on out!

Haha..I think that's Marc's way of saying, Bonnie pls cook from now on ;)
