My lunch today didn't feel complete without a bag of chips, so I went and bummed a dollar off my coworker Christine, since all I had was a couple of 20's and a bunch of pennies. Literally, just pennies, because the last time I wanted something from the vending machine, I scrounged up all the quarters and nickles and dimes I had and used them.
I was just thinking that we've been at our new house for almost a year now, and we still haven't finished all our projects! We're still living with only half of our kitchen cabinet doors up, haha. I think we're going to have to definitively set this weekend as the weekend we finish hanging the doors. It really needs to get done sometime this century.
[Annoyed side-note: I spent who knows how long typing up this long-ass entry, and I am SURE that I saved a draft at one point, when I clicked on some stupid link and it opened it up in the page I was using to blog, wiping out my entire post. Woe to weblinks that open themselves up in existing windows! Woe I say! And I don't know where my draft went. It's gone. Poof. So I have to start this ALL. OVER. AGAIN. And that makes me not happy.]
I finally got to watch the first hour of the AI finale that we'd missed. I fast-forwarded through the Golden Idols stuff though, as well as Tony Bennett. Nothing against Tony, but I was sleepy, and I wanted to get to the good stuff.
We're back from vacation! I meant to blog more during our trip, but just never had the time. So where to start?
There are two entries today - the one below I started on Friday and finished up today. And I think our weekend needs a post all of its own!

I got to bed somewhat late last night, mostly because we got home late (I had to go pick up my dress) and then Kenny came over so that we could show him what needed to be taken care of while we're gone on vacation.
Kenny called me last night to tell me that he was offered a job at a big law firm in Phoenix! They flew him down for an interview yesterday and they offered him the job on the spot. It sounds like he's going to take it (it's a great opportunity for him, and the pay is very good). I think he's hoping to be able to transfer to their San Jose branch after a year or so. They want him to start June 5! So he's going to have to get all his arrangements in order pretty quick. I'm proud of him - but we'll miss him! Who are Marc and I going to hang out with now?
I just finished up getting recertified for First Aid/CPR. Pity the poor person who has me as their only recourse for aid!
Cynthia's wedding is this Saturday, and my week is a bit crazy!
It was a nice, fun, fairly relaxing weekend. We still kept busy, but we weren't feeling frazzled this time.
As I mentioned yesterday, I was stuck working in the lab all day. The thing that sucks about it is that my boss and I run two labs in separate buildings, and I had to work in the lab in his building. I have no office there, and when I'm working up there I usually only can take breaks a few minutes at a time. So I end up eating my lunch in the hallway, which sorta blows.
I'm stuck in the lab allllll day today, so gonna quickly blog before I have to head out. I ended up not taking Bandit to agility last night, just to give his feet some extra rest. He's walking fine, but seems to be just the slightest bit tender still, so I didn't want to take any chances.
Last night was disco night on AI, and I kinda figured it was going to be bad, which it mostly was. Disappointing, considering we're down to the final four. I think I felt underwhelmed with the final four last year too, so I'm wondering if America is running out of talent, heh. Anyways, since last night generally sucked, and I've missed most of AI "Rewind," I've decided to do my own "Rewind" of Season 1.
Marc and I didn't carpool this morning, so I ended up leaving the house later than we normally do. Unfortunately, when I got on the freeway, I discovered that there had been an accident in Sunol on 680, and it was a parking lot for miles. So rather than sit in traffic for an extra hour, I turned around, went home, had breakfast, and then went back out. Traffic was much better by then!
Somewhat busy weekend again, as usual! Still looking for that do-absolutely-nothing weekend, but it never seems to happen!
Sharks lost last night, which sucked, especially since they were up 2-0. I think they got back on their heels a bit, trying to just play defense, which has been a bad habit of theirs for a while. They need to keep pouring it on for all three periods, unless they're up like, 4 goals or something. Anyways, series is tied 2-2 now, although I'm not sure anyone reading this blog cares. So moving on!
So I am rather unsuccessfully trying to starve myself between today and well, tomorrow, in order to try to shed an extra pound or two before getting my dress altered for Cynthia's wedding. So I just had a semi-breakfast/lunch today. I am sure I'll be starving in oh, 20 minutes.
Whew! We had a pretty busy weekend, and actually managed to get in a bit of exercise while we were at it, heh!
