You might remember that a while ago I blogged about how we found all sorts of junk (newspapers, boxes, jars) behind some bushes at the front of our house. We cleaned it out, and were suspecting that some kids were playing there.
We had mentioned it to our next-door neighbors, who work from home, and have lived in the neighborhood for the past 10 years, so they know most of the people on the street. They had an idea who did it, but none of us knew for sure.
Anyways, Monday night when we got home from work, we found more newspaper behind the bushes and a few other things. And the plants in front of the bushes had been trampled. It just happened that UPS had also delivered a bunch of packages to our front porch that actually were addressed to our neighbor. So Marc went over to drop them off, and it turns out that our neighbor had caught the kid that was playing in our bushes. I guess she actually told him that he shouldn't be doing it, and he left, but didn't clean up.
Turns out that Marc and I actually sort of know this kid (who is probably about 9 or 10), because I had talked to him when Stubby went missing, and he seemed like a pretty nice kid. His dad is actually a police officer. So Marc went over to their house to talk to his parents, and I guess the kid opened the door, and he pretty much knew what Marc was there for, heh.
His mom was NOT happy - and a few minutes later the kid came by and cleaned up all the stuff - but before that, Marc said he stood there and looked at the trampled plants and said, "Oh man, I didn't know it was that bad..." He was really apologetic, and Marc was nice to him - told him that he was a kid once and understood, and that we didn't mind if he played there, just that he needed to be more careful and clean up after himself.
Anyways, I am just glad to have that mystery cleared up! Aaaand, I think I need to learn the art of brevity.
The new Apple iPhone looks neat, and it's too bad I won't be getting one soon. Nevermind the cost - it's only available through AT&T, and I'm not gonna switch carriers just for a phone. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't, because I think Marc locked us into Verizon for like, the next decade, when he bought his new phone.
Kelly Clarkson's new album dropped yesterday, and I nabbed my copy off of iTunes. Definitely different from "Breakaway," but I like it a lot. The hidden track at the end owns.
Marc and I went to Cold Stone last night for dessert, and one of the girls there would make the ice cream, and then toss it in the air, like almost 10 feet, to another guy who would catch it with the cup! They must've done it like 4 or 5 times while we were there. Pretty cool.
Alright, I think that covers all the random bits I could think of for today. I know there's a couple things I'm forgetting, but well, I forget what they are.

Your Cold Stone experience sounds like Benihana's, without the sushi! That's pretty cool... do they have to get trained to do that?! :)
