Marc and I went to Blockbuster Friday night in the hopes of renting a movie to watch. I know, who were we kidding, right?
It's funny, we have the Blockbuster Online service, but can never seem to return the movies, nor get new ones in the queue. So the weekend rolls around, and we end up having to go to the store to rent a movie. We couldn't find anything could, and finally settled on A Night At the Museum
Well, we got home, and neither of us particularly felt like watching it, so we ended up watching something on TV instead. I can't even remember what it was, but I guess at the time it seemed like a more interesting prospect than the movie.
We slept in a little bit on Saturday morning, and Marc had to go to work for a few hours. I ran a couple errands, and had Arby's for lunch. Then I cleaned up a bit around the house and did a bunch of vacuuming, because Cynthia and Steve (newly married!) were coming over, and Cynthia is really allergic to cats.
They came over to the house around 3pm. We were going to go see Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End that evening, so our plan was to rewatch the 2nd movie as a refresher that afternoon, have dinner, and then head to the theater.
I ended up not watching too much of the 2nd movie as it was, because I got busy preparing stuff for dinner (we were doing a barbecue). Which was fine, because I probably would've been just as confused watching it a second time as I was the first.
Marc finally got home from work just in time for dinner. We had burgers, ribs, corn, salad, and twice-baked potatoes. In other words, way too much food.
Pirates 3 was a looong movie. I liked it a lot more than the 2nd though, although it was probably just as convoluted in plot. There were a lot of plot developments that just went nowhere. Skip the rest of this paragraph if you don't want to hear anything more about this movie. Like, the whole deal with Calypso. It seemed like there was going to be some sort of payoff with that whole plot - some consequence, but then there was...nothing. Everyone was so afraid of setting her free, and I'm not sure why. And the whole Will/Elizabeth dealio - I really stopped caring about those two characters in the 2nd film, and just started caring about them just a little bit more in the 3rd, when they ended up with the crappiest resolution ever. It's like the filmmakers ended up hating them too and wanted them to wallow in crappy eternity.
Anyways, Sunday I got up early and took Bandit herding. This week was less frustrating than last week, but only marginally so, heh. Marc and I had lunch, he washed the car, and then we went to the fish store to buy food...which they didn't have. I did trade in this huge coral piece I had - the stuff was growing like a weed, and I just wanted it out of the tank. They gave me $25 for it, which was fine. I would've given it to them for free if I had to. The thing was about half the size of a volleyball, and way overgrown.
Marc also surprised me with an impromptu present - he bought me earrings from Na Hoku that match my little flip-flop necklace. They're so cute!
In the afternoon we went to Steve and Erin's house for Erin's birthday. We had barbecue for dinner, and yummy Cold Stone cake for dessert. I even got to hold the baby for a bit, and it didn't poop. I like holding the baby when it doesn't poop.
After the party, we went home, did laundry, I talked to Kenny for a bit on the phone, and went to bed.
