Well, I had promised an extra post yesterday, and I actually did write the whole thing up, only to discover that the password-protecting plugin I had installed on MT a while back doesn't work. I don't know if I'm misusing tags or whatnot, but whatever the case, the version I had is so old that the developer no longer provides instructions for it (and near as I can tell, there's no readme in the installation files).
For once, we managed to have a pretty productive weekend, rather than one where we were kept busy by a bunch of extraneous things (for the most part).
Marc pointed out to me yesterday that I haven't blogged in about three days. Been sorta busy the past two days, which is part of the problem. Also, I'm worried I'm getting boring. It's hard to come up with witty, clever things to write about every day. But I guess my non-witty days are more as a journal for me, rather than entertainment for others. Or maybe I'm not witty at all??? Eek.
It wasn't easy, but I stayed up until 1 am last night and finished Harry Potter! I won't comment further on it, in case anyone hasn't read it yet, I just wanted to say that I'm done. I think I'm going to go back now and read the whole series from start to finish, because there's so much stuff I just don't remember.
Well, I tried my best to finish "Harry Potter" over the weekend, but I just didn't have enough time. I'm about 2/3rds of the way through, I think. I toyed with the idea of calling in sick today just so I could finish it, hehe. So far, the book is really, really good.
Yesterday I discovered, to much joy, that the Kee Wah Bakery across the street is now open! Woohoo! Having lived in Dublin for over 4 years now, with nary an Asian bakery in sight, I am thrilled. Chinese pastries >>> American pastries. I'm just sayin'. ;)
Seems like we did a lot this weekend, although it all seemed to go by really quickly.
I can't say I'm surprised exactly that we're having problems with our XBox 360 - it is, after all, a Microsoft product. In fact, it was probably inevitable.
Gotta love Nintendo. According to this article, the Wii is on its way to outselling the PS2, and has already turned profitable for Nintendo. I think the coolest thing has to be that balance board for the new Wii Fit game (pictured in that article). I don't know what it's for, but it looks neat!

Okay, so I'm in a better mood this morning than I was yesterday, haha. It probably helped that neither Marc nor I had to get into work especially early, so we were able to stop off and grab some breakfast. I had a yummy waffle with strawberries and whipped cream and syrup, which was decidedly not diet-y. I may skip lunch to make up for it, but I haven't decided yet.
I cut back on reading the news for a few months a while ago, but lately I've been checking cnn.com and other news sites more regularly, and I'm reminded again why I stopped in the first place. It's so damn depressing.
I'm starting to think I really need to come up with some form of "to-do" list, and start planning out finish times for all the various projects and tasks that need to get done. So many things are at a standstill, and in those moments that we seem to have free time, it's hard to get motivated to do anything. So maybe making targets would help?
Um, the Harry Potter movie comes out tomorrow? Where have I been? Oh, to see it this weekend and wait in the lines, or to make myself wait another week...decisions, decisions. And what, 7, 9 more days until the book comes out? Call me a dork, but I'm so excited.
So I guess they're remaking the "Bionic Woman" TV series (keeping the name Jaime Sommers, but changing the story, I guess? Wierd). Dunno how excited I am about that. Maybe I'd be more enthused if they would just release the original series on DVD already (last I heard, it was a rights issue - as in, Universal allowed them to lapse, and now someone else owns them).
I meant to blog yesterday, but ended up stuck in the lab from about 9 am to almost 8:30 pm. I managed to not turn completely into a grumpypants, but I wasn't exactly thrilled either. At least I got to eat lunch, which often doesn't happen on days like those.
We kept fairly busy this weekend - and now that it's Monday, I can't say enough how much I'm looking forward to Wednesday, when I have the DAY OFF!
