Seems like we did a lot this weekend, although it all seemed to go by really quickly.
We went out to dinner with my family Friday night, with Leslie treating us all. Afterwards, we went to my parents' house to help Leslie move his fish (he set up a 20-gallon freshwater tank at their house) and pick up Harvey, because my parents were having the house fumigated Saturday morning. We transferred the water and fish to a container, then moved them to our house. We then put them into a 10-gallon tank that I had lying around.
Unfortunately, after filling the tank, we realized that the tank (which had been moved numerous times) had a crack in one of the seams, and was slowly leaking. We desperately put GOBS of silicone on it, and were finally able to get it to stop. It looks hideous, but it'll do for the few days the fish need to be in there.
I had forgotten my purse at my parents' house that night, and so I had to pick it up from them at my grandmother's house (where they're staying while the house is fumigated) on Saturday. Marc had to work that day, so I ended up just hanging out there for a bit and chatting with my parents.
I went home and did some long-overdue pruning/fragging of some anthelia in the fish tank (it's that soft coral that grows like a weed - last time I brought in a HUGE rock of it to the fish store, and I think they sold it by the next day). I actually have come to hate the stuff, as it grows over everything, and I really want to just be rid of it all.
Anyways, I bagged up 5 big bags of the stuff, probably 10 frags in total. I still had some left in the tank. I took it to the store, figuring they'd give me like $25 for all of it - I didn't care, as I would've given it to them for nothing, or thrown it away.
The store owner offered me $20 each - which I thought meant each bag, or $100 total, but turned out to mean $20 each frag - ie, $200 total! Sweet.
I am almost tempted to set up a separate prop tank just for this stuff so that I can make money off of it, as I hate having it in the display tank. It's probably too much hassle though.
Anyways, I turned around and used half of my $200 store credit on a very pretty fairy wrasse that I've always wanted but rarely see for sale, and that they happened to have 4 of. Here's a pic of one (I haven't tried to get ours on camera yet):

So far it hasn't been excessively hiding - it's actually a lot more bold than I expected. These fish are notorious jumpers, so I hope my eggcrate covers are enough to keep it in.
Saturday night I went with Leslie to see the new Harry Potter movie (Marc didn't want to go). It was good - probably one of the darker ones of the series. It made me realize how much of the books I don't remember. I think I need to go back and re-read books 5 and 6 before 7 comes out.
Sunday morning I got up early (it wasn't easy) and got online to buy Cal football tickets which were going on sale at 8:30am. They really raised prices this year! USC used to be $45-$48, and this year they are $66. I bought tickets for that game and Tennessee (also $66), as they are the ones most likely to sell out fast.
After that I took Bandit herding, and Marc and I spent most of the afternoon running errands and stuff. At some point, I was on the phone with XBox support for an eternity.
Leslie and my parents came up in the evening to have dinner with us (at Armadillo Willy's).
And that was the weekend! Is it Friday yet?

Go Bears! Thanks for buying the tickets Bonz!
Missing a closing bold tag...?
I have sticker shock from the price of the fairy wrasse (and reverse sticker shock from what you were able to get on your frags -- that's AWESOME!), but it is gorgeous!
Hahaha, oops, thanks for the heads up. That's what happens when I don't preview my posts.
