Well, I had promised an extra post yesterday, and I actually did write the whole thing up, only to discover that the password-protecting plugin I had installed on MT a while back doesn't work. I don't know if I'm misusing tags or whatnot, but whatever the case, the version I had is so old that the developer no longer provides instructions for it (and near as I can tell, there's no readme in the installation files).
I tried to upgrade MT last night so that I could install the updated plugin, but for some reason the MT .zip file that I downloaded from SixApart is corrupted. You'd think someone would have pointed this problem out to them. There's a newer version that I was able to download successfully, but it's a beta, and I'm hesitant to install it. If push comes to shove, I may try it tonight. If this site blows up tomorrow, you'll know why.
Christine (coworker) was nice enough to invite us and a few of my other coworkers to her place last night for dinner. She lives right by one of the 7-Elevens that was turned into a Kwik-E-Mart, so we stopped by there first. Marc bought a whole box of the Simpson's-style donuts - pink icing with sprinkles. It was funny going in the store, because people were in there taking pictures and scooping up souvenirs (they were sold out of everything except for the collector's cups, which we bought). It was like a total tourist stop.
Anyways, dinner was great - we didn't get home until about 10pm, which is why I didn't have a lot of time to work on my stupid blog problem. I did manage to get some pictures uploaded of the house - they aren't the best, because the shadows wash out some of the color - we'll have to try to take pictures when the sun is at a better angle.
