We kept fairly busy this weekend - and now that it's Monday, I can't say enough how much I'm looking forward to Wednesday, when I have the DAY OFF!
Marc and I didn't have specific plans for Friday night, but shortly after I got home from work (Marc had the day off), my mom called and said she was going to stop by our house with a few of my aunts (in town for my grandmother's birthday). After getting lost a couple times and calling me to try to get new directions, they made it to our place. We showed them around the house, and they all loved the fish tank, although Stubby probably turned out to be the real star. All my aunts were really amused at his gregariousness, and how he sat there looking at them, and looking really cute.
We ended up driving down to Union City with them to meet up with my dad and Leslie for sushi for dinner. I had way too much food, but it was a fun, relaxing dinner. Afterwards, we stopped by my parents' house for a few minutes to check out the new 20-gallon freshwater tank that Leslie had set up for them (well, really for himself). He did a pretty good job with it! The tank was an old one I had that I gave him, but it cleaned up pretty nice, hehe.
Saturday I slept in a bit, and then we went out and met up with my brothers (Kenny flew in from Arizona late Friday night), who were coming up to buy some fish for the new tank. After that, we brought Mo (foster cat) to Petsmart for the adoption faire. One family seemed really interested in him, and they took down our contact info, so we'll see.
I think at some point in the afternoon, I took a short nap.
We also went to the mall to pick up a small present for my grandmother (I just got her a brooch). It's really hard to think of things to get her, because she really doesn't need anything. We also stopped by the Safeway in Fremont to buy flowers (we didn't make it to the local florist before they closed). I ended up picking out too many flowers, and the bouquet turned out to be ginormous. We coincidentally ran into my brothers there, as they were also buying flowers. They then saddled us with picking up the cake in Milpitas.
Dinner was at Dynasty restaurant in Cupertino, and we had a private room, which was cool. My grandmother was celebrating her 90th birthday (technically her 89th, but in Chinese culture they call the 89th the 90th, because 89 isn't lucky). Dinner was yummy - I don't know why I love peking duck so much, but I do.
After dinner we went to hang out at my aunt's house with my cousins Mark and Henry and my brothers. We rented Breach, which was a pretty decent movie. I think it was almost 1:30 in the morning by the time we got home.
Sunday morning I dragged myself out of bed (it wasn't easy, considering I had a massive headache) and took Bandit herding. I think he did better this week than previous weeks - he listened a bit more, and I yelled a bit less.
After that, Marc and I grabbed lunch, and then went to go buy a new barbecue grill (our old one broke). We got the Weber Genesis E-310:

We opted to get the model without the side burner - we've never used those, and it saved us $50.
We then spent the next hour or so putting it together in the garage. Fun!
Marc and I then got cleaned up, and drove to Santana Row to meet up with a bunch of my friends for my friend Marian's birthday. We had Ben and Jerry's ice cream, and then had dinner at Wahoo's Fish Tacos. Good times.
The rest of my evening was spent making fish food in a blender (smells scrumptious!), and doing other chores.
There's a bunch of movies out that I want to see - Sicko and Ratatouille for sure. And my guilty pleasures would be Transformers and the new Die Hard movie. Hehe.

so i'm curious...do you also use the same blender for fish food as for other food???
