I Have Returned!

I really intended to blog when we got back from NYC, but we ended up being so busy that I just never had the time. Apparently people missed me! Hahaha.

Lots to write about, so I'll probably break it up to avoid fatiguing everyone with a bunch of details. Plus, I still have a bunch of pictures to upload, and stories are always better with pictures. :)

In summary, we left for New York on Friday morning. We stayed up late on Thursday packing. I had finally managed to buy not one, but two dresses for the wedding, as I couldn't decide. I also bought a bunch of new tops, half of which I ended up being unable to wear because I brought the wrong bra with me (sorry, TMI). Also, it turned out to be mostly chilly while we were in NY, and I totally packed for hot weather.

Friday morning before we left we dropped Bandit off at Jan's house. His drain came out on Thursday (Tuesday night he managed to flip it inside out, and I had to tuck it back in under the skin - yeah, I know, sterility be damned - but he was on antibiotics, and it was 11 at night!). He actually nipped a vet tech when they were removing it (I had told them that I should go back there with him to help, but they insisted it would be fine). They ended up needing my help after all, and with me there, it took about 5 seconds to do. I think at this point Bandit hates the vet hospital.

Jan said he did well at her place - got along with all her dogs, and she says he was the easiest dog she's had to sit. So that was a relief!

Deepali did my parents a huge favor and fed Harvey while we were all gone. Our neighbor came and fed the cats and took care of the fish tank too. Apparently he had a lot of fun playing with the cats - he said he would end up losing track of time at our place, hehe. And now he says he's been bit by the aquarium bug!

The installers finished our tile floor as well as the pergo in the living room while we were gone. They did a pretty good job, although they weren't as picky about some things as I would've been. It's funny when you hire someone to do something - even though they're professionals, they're often not as meticulous as you might be doing it yourself. But still, I'm glad we got it done.

New York was fun, although it really reaffirmed for me that I am not a city person. I enjoy shopping and eating, but that seems to be all there is. Museums and plays I guess, but that only lasts so long. The downsides outweigh the upsides, but that's just me, personally.

We've been non-stop busy since we got home, as well. Marc and I both took the rest of the week off from work, and we were super busy painting (finally got the wall right), cleaning (there was SO MUCH to do), installing baseboards (had to paint them and install them), and getting the house organized and decorated in time for our party on Saturday. We were up until 1 or 2 am most nights just working.

We had a barbecue Saturday with a bunch of friends and family, and Sunday we slept a lot. We had my parents over that night to help us eat all the leftover food we had.

Anyways, more details on stuff tomorrow!

Awww, you are too nice! Harvey was so sweet, it really was no trouble at all.
