I don't have any more pictures to add to the ones I posted yesterday, but man, these little guys are cute.
I've been feeding them a mixture of milk, water and soft kitten food, which they've been chowing down on. The first time they started on the milk it was pretty funny, because they were kind of slurping and snorting it at the same time.
Momma cat definitely seems to have some sort of vision issue, though I can't tell what it is exactly. When I go in the room to feed them, she gets really excited (no surprise that she's often hungry), and she tries to jump from the toilet to the bathroom counter, but always misjudges it and doesn't quite jump far enough. She gets so frantic trying to get up on the counter to eat that she keeps jumping and slipping off the edge. I end up having to pick her up and put her on there, and then it seems like she sort of has to sniff to find the bowl.
Other times though, I'll find her lying on the counter when I know she was previously on the floor. So she's definitely capable of getting on there herself. And she definitely does see me, and she's been able to follow my hand with her eyes. Her eyes look normal, but I'm wondering if she's got impaired vision in one or both eyes, something that might be affecting her depth perception.
These kittens are awesome though - I'm used to kittens we foster being a little bit shy and scared, but these guys aren't at all. They literally are all over you the minute you walk in the room. I'll be standing on the counter and I'll have a kitten sitting on each foot. This morning I went to feed them, and I was walking around the bathroom with a kitten latched onto my jeans halfway up my leg. They're so freakin' adorable.
The mom is pretty friendly too - she comes up to me for attention and purrs when she's getting petted. Doesn't seem to be afraid at all, so I'm guessing someone must've had her as a kitten. She'll probably make a great pet once she's all fattened up again.
We really didn't do much yesterday - Marc cooked a nice dinner, and we watched Monday Night Football the rest of the night.
