That pretty much sums up how I felt this weekend. Just...bleh. Today though, I feel okay. I guess.
Friday night Marc and I went took Jan out to dinner (as a thank-you for babysitting Bandit). We went to this steakhouse in San Ramon. Not bad, but I think for my money I'd rather go to Outback. Afterwards, we went home and packed for our trip (which didn't take long).
We woke up early Saturday, and drove down to my parents' house and got there around 7 am. Leslie met up with us there, and my dad dropped us off at the San Jose airport. The flight to Phoenix took less than two hours - Marc and I watched "Heroes" on the way down on my iPod Touch (I had the episodes on my video iPod as well, so I synced up the audio on the two so that we could both listen and watch on the Touch's better screen).
Kenny picked us up, and he had munchkins for Dunkin' Donuts for us - so awesome. We went to his place, which was pretty nice. Not big, but plenty for one person. Went out for Greek for lunch, and then went shopping for a little bit. It was HOT in Phoenix. I think it was near the mid-90s. Insane.
We went back to his place and watched some football on TV and napped for an hour (we were beat!). Then we headed out to the game around 4:30.
We ended up parking a ways from the stadium, and had to walk a bit to get there. We did get harrassed by a few ASU fans, although only one was truly obnoxious. Some loser in track pants walking on the other side of the street kept yelling at us, "Who did Cal beat last week?" And he kept stopping by other ASU fans to try to get them to join in in heckling us, but most of them were at least classy enough to not take the bait. Some other guys were telling us the stadium was "the other way," but at least that was good-natured ribbing.
The game was a severe disappointment, especially since it seemed like we were handling them with ease in the first quarter. And then they just imploded. Just horrendous. Pretty boorish crowd at ASU - and apparently they rushed the field after the win. That's right, a #4 team beats a #21 team, and their fans rush the field and climb the goalposts. Hilarious.
So I was pretty much sick after the game, but today I feel alright. Now I'm just gonna enjoy the rest of the games, and there's no stress.
Anyways, we didn't get back to Kenny's place until almost midnight, and had a very late dinner from In-and-Out. Kenny was nice enough to go out and buy towels and toiletries for us to use, as well as caramel apples, hehe. We slept for about 4 hours, then got up at 5-ish to head out to the airport for our 7 am flight. It would've been nice to have been able to visit longer, but this was the only flight arrangement we could get for a decent price. Maybe we should've skipped the game and just hung out all evening instead, heh.
So we got back home pretty early on Sunday, and napped for a couple hours. In the afternoon, Bill and Brenda and their kids, and Cynthia and Steve came over to carve pumpkins. We took some pictures too, which I'll upload tonight.
Hmm...what else...oh, I think I'm going to return my new phone (which is supposed to be delivered today) and wait to get the new LG Venus instead. It's pretty similar to the Chocolate, except that the bottom is a touch screen, and the phone looks a bit snazzier. It's supposed to come out mid-November, so I won't have to wait too long.
