I meant to upload the pumpkin pictures from Halloween on Friday, but was stuck in the lab most of the day, and wasn't able to get around to doing it. But here they are now!

Weekend
Had a fairly easy-going weekend. Marc had Friday off, so he spent most of his day doing a nice job of cleaning out the garage a bit. Half of our garage was filled with boxes and other junk, and he managed to get rid of about half of the stuff.
In the evening, we went to see American Gangster. Surprisingly, it's actually been a long while since we've gone to the movies. Anyways, it's a good film - kinda long at 2 and a half hours, but it doesn't feel that way.
Saturday after lunch we went over to Steve and Erin's to babysit the kids. We even got to feed the baby and put her down for a nap, which was fun. Is it sad that when I was looking at the baby formula, that my first thought was, "Oh cool, just like kitten formula!"? Hell, it's probably practically the same stuff (kitten formula isn't cheap either).
Speaking of the kittens, they are finally all eating soft food now, and they are all insane. I can't go in there without three of them instantly hanging off my legs. I think they'll be ready to get spayed/neutered in a few weeks.
After babysitting, Marc dropped me off at BART so that I could ride up to the Cal game. Leslie went too, and we had a pretty good time, and the team won, so I can't complain (even though they still didn't play great). The band's halftime show was actually awesome - the theme was video games, and they played songs from Tetris (while the formation was of the pieces falling into place), Mario, Zelda, Pokemon ("Oski, I choose you!"), etc. It was really well done! The only thing was that a lot of the people around us (older folks) didn't get it AT ALL. They were like, "What's this?" "Someone said it's Tetris...some video game thing, I don't know." Here I was, geeking out and marveling at the genius of it all, and no one around me got it.
I got home a little after midnight, and I was beat! Last couple of games we've gone to, I've almost fainted when jumping up from my seat and screaming. I seriously almost blacked out at the ASU game. I need to take it easy next week, heh.
Sunday was mostly low key. I took Bandit herding in the morning, and then Marc and I watched football for most of the day. I did have a near disaster though, as I went to try to clean a piece of equipment on the fish tank.
The part is all tied into the plumbing, and before I worked on it, I closed off all the valves from the tank itself. Well, I thought I did at least. Turns out I didn't. When I opened up the part, water started gushing everywhere. It sprayed all the way to the electrical outlet, and immediately tripped the GFCIs. I tried to stop it with a towel, but the water pressure was too great.
At one point, I put my hand down on the stand, and felt it tingling. I looked down and realized that I had a power strip down there, and there was now water pooled around it, and my hand was in that water. Oops.
I finally managed to get all the valves I'd missed closed, unplugged the now-smoking power strip, and unplugged everything else. Marc heard the commotion and came in, and we proceeded to clean up the one or two gallons of water that was all over the floor. Good thing I'd actually taken the time to caulk around the stand and baseboards.
We got everything dried off and working again, but man, that was scary. I nearly electrocuted myself!
LASIK
I'm thinking of having LASIK done, now that enrollment for flexible spending at work is open for next year. I'd been thinking about it for a few years, but didn't really follow through on it. So I had my first consultation this morning. Sounds like I'm eligible for it, and should be able to get it done. It's a bit scary, but it would definitely be nice to not have to be dependent on contacts and glasses anymore.

Doh! We missed it. We went looking for you two, and spent about 10 minutes trying to get your attention, but now I see why you didn't notice/hear us. HAHAHA. I should have looked down ... oh well. :) (Cal halftime show)
Oh man, I didn't know you were there that long! Sorry! I know, I think I was kind of distracted right then because I was paying attention to the show.
Here's some YouTube clips of the show - not the best views (the best part - remember in Super Mario where the flag goes down at the end of each stage? They did that at the end, but it's not caught on camera.):

Oh I kid! We weren't there for that long ... just a few minutes. But it was funny, William and I were cracking up, we were yelling loudly, but not loudly enough.
Oh, this is actually really really funny! And really really good! Hahahaha. Go Cal Band! And Go Bears! Oh man, of all the halftime shows I didn't pay attention too!
BTW your pumpkins were really good!
