Marc and I left work super early yesterday to make the drive - in commute traffic - up to Sacramento for the Kelly Clarkson concert. We got to our house around 4, took care of all the pets, and then hit the road again. Traffic was pretty crappy, but we got up to Sac-town at 6pm - the concert started at 7:30.

We parked, then walked around until we found a Japanese restaurant called Mikuni near the theater. Kind of a trendy place I guess, but the sushi was pretty good. I ordered the Train Wreck roll, hehe.
We got to the theater and Marc bought me a t-shirt and a program, and then we went and sat in our third row seats, which were even closer than I expected. Very cool. There were a lot of little tweens there, but enough people our age and older (sans kids) that it didn't feel wierd, haha.
Jon McLaughlin kicked things off, and he's kind of cute. I don't really know his music, but it was okay. Was sweating like a pig though - I just kept watching the sweat drip from his head onto his keyboard, which was kind of gross.
The Kelly part of the concert was very cool - she walked over to our side of the stage a bunch of times, so we got to see her up close - really close! I have a bunch more pictures, a few better than the ones above, but that one was the closest. So much better than say, watching from the lawn at the Shoreline. She sounded great though, a bit different in person.
Marc took a few short vids for me - I took some as well, but I had a brain malfunction and took the videos with the camera oriented vertically, which meant that all of mine turned out sideways. Grr.
Here's a short clip from when she was on our side of the stage: Clip of "Gone"
And a ginormous file (I haven't compressed any of the vids yet) of one of my sideways clips: Clip of "Sober"
The concert finished a little before 10:30, and it only took us an hour to get home, so we still managed to get to bed at a reasonable hour. I had pretty much no hearing in my right ear all night, but today it feels mostly normal.
All in all, it was a fun time!

sounded like fun! i wish i could have been there. i love so many of her songs.
Wish you could have come! She really sounded great in person, and I still can't believe how close we were! There were a couple funny moments too when she forgot the words during two different songs and just made up lyrics on the fly, which I think is pretty much the norm for her. Best concert I've been to.
