Apologies for being such a slacker of late - work got pretty busy last week, and we have been scrambling trying to get some, any, Christmas shopping done.
Marc and I went to the mall on Friday evening to try to do a little bit of shopping, but ended up not really accomplishing much. I wasn't feeling well, so that forced us to cut our excursion short.
So instead of shopping, we went home and I watched "Grey's Anatomy" on DVD.
Saturday we got up early and went to Verizon to try to exchange my cell phone. Despite the fact that they had told me earlier in the week that they would have the phone I wanted in stock that day, that turned out to not be the case. So that was a waste of a trip. It's a good thing I only need to deal with buying a new phone every two years.
Marc then drove me down to Campbell for my hair appointment, and then we left from there to go to Monster Park for the 49er's game. I had gotten him 50-yard line tickets for his anniversary present. It was chilly, but still an enjoyable experience (I think my dislike of the Niners has turned more into apathy now). They won, so Marc seemed to have a really good time.
We actually got home pretty early, so we went back out to try our hand at shopping again. This time I think we managed to buy one present, and a bunch of extraneous stuff for ourselves. Progress.
Sunday morning we woke up super early, and headed down to Best Buy at 7:30. We had checked the Sunday ad the night before, and they were advertising Wii's, which meant that they would have some in stock. We have one already, but Kenny has been wanting one. They opened at 8, and I wasn't willing to go there too early, but we thought we'd give it a shot anyways.
When we got there, there was already a huge line, and we both figured we weren't going to be getting one. But lo and behold, when I got there, the guy handed me a ticket for one - I was #113 - and it turned out they had 190 total that morning.
Marc also got a ticket, and the line filled out pretty quickly. It was limited to one Wii per paying customer, and we figured we'd buy a second to either sell on eBay for profit or to get just in case anyone else we knew was trying to find one. So one of the Wii's will be going to Kenny as a combination birthday/Christmas present, and the other is going to Steve and Erin to give to their kids as a present.
It took about an hour to get through the line and pay for everything - while we were waiting, we were sandwiched between two moms who were there to buy the Wii as Christmas presents, and Marc and I ended up being unofficial consultants to them on what accessories and games they needed to buy and whatnot. We should've put on Geek Squad shirts.
After that I took Bandit herding, and then I took the two remaining kittens, Luke and Smudge, to the Petsmart adoption event. Both got adopted! I was stoked. It's a lot easier when it's the lull in kitten season and you have kittens - less competition! Now we just have to find mom a home.
And that was about it for the weekend! We'll be busy shopping every night this week, I think. Fun!

How funny! We were at the 49ers game too (my dad and I), but not in good seats like yours. And it was cold, I think we needed to be more prepared for next time. But it took us forever to get home, we faced 2 accidents (one to get onto 101, and another one on the San Mateo bridge, conveniently at the 880 south exit ... sigh).
