Cynthia was nice enough to inform me the other day that I did indeed manage to break the site with the upgrade. I think something happened with the archive mapping, as MT4 seems to do it differently than the previous version I was using. So it's fixed in a way now, so that you can read the entries, but the template for the entries currently is generic, so it doesn't look like the rest of the site.
I've discovered that since I did the last redesign, I haven't so much as looked at any of the templates (since I've been meaning to finish the site for the last two years and haven't done so), and I've pretty much forgotten everything about how MT works. So I'm going to have to relearn everything, and pretty much start again from scratch. But in the meantime, my goal is to at least have the site functional. It won't be pretty.
I'm trying to decide at this point if I want to leave the main site design as is, or try something different. If I decide on something different, then I need to decide if I want to build the site around the blog aspect of it, or design the site as a whole with the blog as just a part of it, if that makes any sense. Basically, do I want the site to look mainly like a blog, or do I want it to look like a site that happens to have a blog. I would like to have a page dedicated to the reef tank, and possibly Bandit's own page.
We'll see. All this is going to take a lot of time to do, and we all know how that goes.
The very nice thing about MT4? Auto save. At last!
So we kept fairly busy this weekend. Friday I tried to leave work early, given that I'd been working long days and I was pretty beat. I ended up with some last-minute things put on my plate, so I didn't get out until a little past 3. Which isn't bad, but I was hoping to get out earlier.
Came home and napped until Marc got home. Then he napped with me for a bit before we grabbed a late-ish dinner. We rented Michael Clayton, but didn't start it early enough to watch it that night.
Saturday we slept in a little bit, and then I took BART up to SF to meet up with some old friends of mine from my "X-Files" group. David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, and Chris Carter were making an appearance at WonderCon at the Moscone Center to promote the upcoming XF2 movie. I'd seen Gillian in person before, but not David.
We grabbed some lunch beforehand, then went in and got seats early. We walked in halfway through the presentation for the Get Smart movie, and got to see Anne Hathaway and Steve Carell! The presentation after that was for the upcoming Narnia film, and then Pixar's wall-e. We actually got to see 4 clips from that movie, and it looks hilarious. I was so-so excited to see it before, but now I'm really excited. It looks great.
Then there was a presentation for some stupid horror movie called Shutter, and then finally it was X-Files time! The crowd gathered in the hall was pretty huge by this time, and there definitely still seems to be a fan base. They showed a short trailer for it, and the crowd just roared when a shot of Scully came up, and then a shot of Mulder. So geek-alicious. I was in heaven.
Here's a couple crappy pictures I took:

They let a bunch of people ask questions, and one lady was kind of nutty. She told them that she was so devoted to the show, that even though her husband had just had a stroke last year, she still showed up to see them. And she had named her son Thurston Xavier Fox, so that his initials were TXF. Gillian just had this frozen expression on her face. I think she was trying not to look horrified.
All in all though, it was pretty cool - I can't wait for the movie!
I went home after the XF bit. Marc and I grabbed dinner at Outback, and then we finally watched Michael Clayton. Pretty good movie, and I'm glad I got to see at least one of the Oscar nominated films.
Sunday I woke up and it was pouring outside, which meant that we weren't going herding that day. We ended up watching TV and doing errands in the morning, and I took a nap in the afternoon. Then we went down to my parents' house for an early dinner. After dinner, we watched bit of the Oscars and then Marc and I played bowling on the Wii with my parents. Apparently they play it every night now, which is pretty cool. My dad even made Mii characters for the whole family, hehe. Marc won every round, but he also bowls like he's going to kill someone.
So that was our weekend!

hurray! the links work again! you can ignore my email address. =)
Hilarious about the freaky lady! I keep seeing the X-Files DVDs at Costco, feeling tempted, and then seeing the price tag...
