It was quite a busy 3-day weekend for us!
Marc ended up having to work from home for part of the day Friday, so we didn't go anywhere. Instead, I washed the Mustang AND the dog at the same time in the front yard.
I tethered Bandit up out front while I washed the car. He loves the hose, and every time I was standing there hosing the car down, the dog would come flying in, trying to bite at the water. A couple times he bit the nozzle itself! By the time I was done with washing the car, he was pretty much soaked.
When Marc finished up with his work, the two of us clay bar'd the car, then washed it again. This took pretty much the entire afternoon to do.
After that, we headed over to Steve and Erin's house to babysit the kids. We watched Shrek (it was the only kid-friendly DVD I could find quickly - our DVDs are all still packed up), put the kids to bed, and then hung out until Steve and Erin got home.
I had to get up early Saturday morning to prepare for the "Frag Swap," which you might remember from last February is an event for the saltwater/reef club I belong to. It's basically a swap meet for coral fragments. This year I actually had a few decent things to contribute, and I brought quite a few frags. I came home with less than what I brought, but it was pretty nice stuff. I also won a nice book on giant clams in the raffle (last year I won 6 items; this year I wasn't quite so lucky).
All in all, it was fun, but a long day. I was there from 10am to 3pm. I drove home right after. While I was gone, Marc spent his time polishing the car with Zaino.
When I got home, I pulled out all the frags and started to drip acclimate them. Leslie came up, and the three of us went to the Pleasanton BMW dealership so he could look at new cars. Those suckers are expensive.
We got back, and I finished dipping and putting all my new acquisitions in the tank. I'll have to take pictures this week.
Then we all drove down to Newark to meet up with the rest of my family for Chinese New Year's dinner. Marc and I each got red envelopes, woot!
After dinner, Marc put down two more coats of Zaino on the Mustang for a total of four coats. There's still some of what looks like rail dust or something in the paint - at some point we may have to go back and re-clay it to get it all out.
Sunday morning I took Bandit herding, and then Marc and I went out for lunch. We drove the nice and shiny Mustang out to try to find a good place to take some pictures. We found a decent spot, but I haven't had a chance to look at the pics to see how they turned out. Hopefully we got a few good shots.
We came home, and the two of us both napped for a little bit. I stopped by at the fish store to trade in some coral. Jan came over to have dinner with us (we made steaks), and the three of us ate and chatted for nearly 4 hours!
I quickly did the rest of my Sunday tasks, and then it was off to bed!
