So I took a vacation day Friday, and managed to get a few errands done, although not nearly as much as I'd planned. Funny how the days seem so much shorter when you're at home versus work.

A new trailer (what looks to be the official teaser trailer) debuted last night at the Paley Fest X-Files retrospective in LA (which I considered going to). Still no title for the damn thing, but there's a lot more Mulder and Scully in this trailer, and that's enough to make me happy.

Played Rock Band again last night, and managed to score 5 gold stars, 100%, for expert vocals on both "Maps" and "Wonderwall." Woot!

Just an administrative note - if you leave a comment, but it doesn't show up in a day or two, let me know. I still haven't fixed the commenting feature entirely, so a lot of comments are going to spam, and I have to manually approve them (conversely, a lot of spam comments are going through. Go figure).

Marc and I are in the process of setting up another, much smaller aquarium in the house. The anemone in the 180 has been getting progressively larger and larger, to the point where it's starting to endanger the other corals (anemones have a pretty potent sting). So we (well, more I, I suppose) decided to set up a new, smaller tank to house the anemone and the clownfish.

Well, I made it into Portland okay last night, even though it wasn't the most comfortable flight I've ever been on. Thankfully, it was a pretty short flight. They did, however, deplane us in the middle of the tarmac, in the rain, with no cover to speak of. I had to wait out there for my carry-on luggage as well (it was a small plane), and then they didn't really give us much guidance as to where we were supposed to go, so we were all just running around aimlessly in the rain. Fun.

So I fly out for my Portland trip this evening (right after work), and I won't be back until Saturday night. Yup, the conference I'm going to is running through Saturday, all day. So I won't be getting in until after 10pm Saturday. I'm thrilled.

Normally I don't blog from the lab, since it's a public comp, and I'm pretty much sitting out here in the open, but I promised pictures yesterday, and for once, I'm going to deliver!

I'm a terrible blogger. I had a few pictures I should have uploaded over the weekend to go with this post, but I never got around to it. Marc did some sweet things for me for my birthday when I got home Friday night, but they really need pictures, I think. So I'll upload them tonight and post about it all tomorrow instead.

Well, birthdays seem to get less fun each year these days, ha! I can't believe I'm 29 already. I really don't feel like I'm 29. Anyways, Marc is taking me out to dinner tonight to celebrate.

I've got a few minutes here to blog before I have to leave work. I've re-enabled anonymous comments (you do need to enter an e-mail address) until I can figure out the registration thing. Needless to say I didn't get around to testing it last night.

I'm still trying to fix the comment function, little by little. It was working earlier, but was getting cumbersome because all comments went to spam for some reason, and it never sent me notifications about them. So I had to dig back and ended up finding a couple comments that never got approved earlier. Sorry about that!

My little boy turns 5 today! I can't believe how quickly time passes. He was so cute this weekend - climbed into bed on Saturday morning and lay down on his side with his head on my chest and his paw draped over my shoulder. Marc says I spoil him, which is probably true, but how can I resist that? It's too cute.
