X-Files Poster and Vacation Day

The first teaser poster for the X-Files movie is out! (Click on it for the larger version.)

Anyway, so I took a vacation day today. I know, I just had last Friday off, but I decided to take today off as well. I didn't have anything on my schedule, just some data analysis that I can do from home. Marc might be able to work just a half day today, so I figured what the heck. I'm about to hop in the shower, but figured I'd post now otherwise I'd never get to it, heh!

Marc got some free Sharks tickets from a coworker, so we went to last night's game against the Dallas Stars. One thing that was hilarious - during the national anthem, every time the word "stars" was sung, the crowd would boo.

Our seats weren't bad - they were in the upper level, but we were literally at center ice. And the game was awesome. Lot of hard hits, a few near fights, and just a really fast-paced, hard-fought game. And the Sharks won in overtime, which just iced the cake. If you've never been to a hockey game in person, I highly recommend it. It's nothing like watching the game on TV, and the crowd at the Shark Tank is always energetic.

I did have the misfortune of sitting next to one of those annoying, know-it-all fans. You know, the guy who thinks he's freaking Drew Remenda and feels the need to provide commentary on every play and every penalty in the game.

Oh, quick side rant: is anyone else using IE7 or Office 2007? Can I just say that Microsoft sucks? Because I have never had more of a headache using these applications than with these new versions. I can't even think of a good analogy for this, but there's been a long-standing paradigm with how these apps used to work, and rather than just make tweaks to the system, it like they took the whole deck of cards and tossed it in the air and reshuffled it together in any which way. It's so stupid it's unfathomable.

Or maybe it's just me, I don't know. All I know is that IE7 crashes constantly (and don't even get me started on how effing difficult MS makes it to re-install the damn thing - because it detects that you're on Vista, and hey, you should already have it, so we won't give you an option to download it!). It took me 10 minutes in Power Point to figure out how to change a slide from portrait to landscape. Unbelieveably. Frustrating.

I haven't done any looking around to see if others find the whole experience just as annoying as I do. You literally have to re-learn how to save and edit and whatever else, because it's now all hidden. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it, and I think it's so goddamn stupid.

Alright, so that wasn't quick. But I seriously had to get it out of my system.
