Had my follow-up exam for my eyes yesterday morning, and they said that my vision in both eyes is now 20/15. Sweet! Last night when I went to bed I kept wanting to take my contacts out. It was all I could do to keep myself from absentmindedly sticking my fingers in my eyes out of habit.
The night shield is still a bit annoying, but I'm getting used to it. I still keep pushing them up onto my forehead in my sleep though. It's dangerous when you're half asleep and groggy and trying to put those things back in place.
Anyways, in my excitement over my eyes, I never blogged about our weekend. It was actually pretty busy, save for Sunday.
Friday night Jan came over and we watched Atonement. I thought it was pretty good - a bit slow in the beginning, and it jumps all over the place, but it was good. I'd recommend it.
Saturday morning we went to Steve and Erin's to celebrate Jennifer's 1st birthday. She was just zooming all over the place. We had lunch, cake, and watched the kids all open up the presents. Marc went out and played dodgeball with all the kids. I think the kids won.
Afterwards, we went home and napped for about an hour. Then we went over to my aunt's house to celebrate my cousin Henry's birthday, as well as my uncle's. My other cousin Derek and his wife, Katherine, were also in town from NYC, so it was a small family reunion. We had dinner, more cake, and then we played board games for a while. Derek and Katherine left a little early (they had just flown in that day), and the rest of us sat around and chatted until almost 1 am. I was pretty well exhausted by the time we got home.
Sunday was considerably more low key. I took Bandit herding as usual, and then the rest of the day we really didn't do much. Which was pretty nice!
Anyways, so I'm on the last disc of season 2 XF, and I've realized that it was actually a pretty good season for the show. I'd forgotten that it was nominated for an Emmy for best drama that year. Hair and wardrobe improved too, especially after GA's pregnancy. So, 4 more to go, then on to season 3!
