Man, it was hot this weekend! Today seems to be much cooler, which is a bit of a relief.
(FYI, I realized the pictures from Friday weren't showing up properly for some reason - it's fixed now.)
So Friday after work Marc went and hung out with a friend, so I was on my own for dinner. As promised, I went and got Arby's. Masochist? Maybe, haha. I can't help it, I love it.
I totally vegged, just ate my junky dinner and watched XF on DVD. I'm nearly halfway through season 3 now. Marc got home a little before 9, and was pretty pooped, so we both went to bed relatively early.
Saturday morning we went by the animal shelter to check out a momma cat who had just given birth to 4 kittens the day before. Mom was really sweet, so we agreed to foster her and the babies. I picked them up later that afternoon. This is our first time fostering newborns, so I'm a little bit nervous. I hope all of them make it okay.
Leslie came up to join us for lunch, and then we went with him to the Concord BMW dealership to check out a few cars he was interested in buying (he's looking for a 328i convertible). He took two cars out for a test drive - I went with them on the first drive, but opted out on the second one because it was just too much trouble trying to keep my hair at bay with the top down.
While I waited for Marc and Leslie to get back from the second drive, I hung out in the showroom and ended up stuck in conversation with the sales guy that was helping us. I just wanted to look at the cars! I found out that he lived in Dublin too, just a couple blocks from us.
Leslie didn't buy a car, but I think he ended up finding the exact one he wants at the Pleasanton dealership.
He hung out with us the rest of the day - he and Marc spent a few hours washing cars, and in the evening we rented Superbad on Blu-ray (they're carrying some at the local Blockbuster, which is cool!). Pretty funny, and surprisingly crude.
Sunday I didn't have herding, so Marc and I both slept in really late. We really didn't really do much of anything other than a quick trip to the mall. We decided to have burgers for dinner, so we went to the store, and ran into the sales guy from the dealership! I'm really bad at face and name recognition - seriously, someone will tell me their name, and I literally forget it two seconds later. So when he said hi to us, it actually took me a few seconds to remember who he was. A bit awkward, considering I'm pretty sure that my brother won't be buying his car from them.
That's not new for us though, because one of the managers at Safeway was the guy who helped us extensively when we were thinking about buying a Camry, and he remembered us too.
I saw this article today on CNN about couples that have one neat spouse and one spouse that is a slob. It's hilarious because it is so Marc and I. We pretty much fall into the "Do it yourself" category, I'm ashamed to say. My favorite quote from the article is this:
"My first line of defense is to say, 'Well, if you want the place up to a certain standard of neatness, you have to accept the fact that you're going to be the one who does it.'"
Because that is exactly what I say all the time. Literally. I always feel like our house is plenty clean, but Marc sees dust and dirt everywhere.
