Marc and I flew back home Wednesday afternoon, and then were back at work yesterday. And tada! It's Friday already!
So Tuesday night we went to catch a showing of Iron Man (the theater there is just a couple minutes' walk from the Disneyland Hotel - which, by the way, is not that great. You're far better of spending the extra money and staying at the Grand Californian). I liked it - I thought it was really good as far as superhero movies go, and I never even found the Iron Man character all that interesting in the past. Robert Downey Jr. was really good.
No XF trailer, which is something I already knew. Word is that it's going to come out next week sometime, but no word yet on which movie(s) it's going to be attached to. If it comes out with Speed Racer, I may have to kill myself. That, or go watch the trailer and then crash another movie.
Anyways, so Marc and I had a pretty nice vacation, despite the cold weather. Our flight coming home was delayed by an hour, and while we were waiting in line to board, there was this older guy who was standing around talking to a friend or something. This lady comes over, and she tells him (she didn't speak too loudly) that someone had taken his suitcase. He very casually ended his conversation and then strolled back to his seat. I thought he was surprisingly nonplussed about the whole thing.
It wasn't until he got back to his seat that the lady explained to him again that someone had taken his suitcase, at which point he went, "GODDAMMIT!" Apparently whoever had taken it had already boarded the plane. So he grabbed what was presumably the other person's actual suitcase, and then frantically convinced the gate steward to let him on ahead of his position. Marc and I were actually about to enter the plane when the suitcase-snatcher came back out of the plane and the two men exchanged suitcases.
The old guy was a bit of an ornery 'ol thing. He said to the other guy, "Well, I think it was your fault, but no harm done." Like he kept saying it was no big deal, but he kept making a big deal out of it. Too funny.
So yeah, that's why we don't leave baggage unattended at the airport, people.
Tomorrow we're driving to Pescadero in the morning to go to a herding trial. I actually entered Bandit in this one, under the JHD (Junior Herding Dog) class. I am sure it's going to be a disaster. We practiced the course a bit last week, and it didn't go well. It'll be completely different sheep and a completely different place for him, so I think he'll either be easier to handle, or completely bonkers. I just hope I don't screw something up majorly.
