Weekend

Deepali called me up this weekend to clue me in on the yogurt mystery. I guess she was watching a commercial for it that explained it all. The "Plus" in "+0% Fat Plus" actually refers to additional calcium and whatnot that they put in the yogurt. But why "+0% Fat?" Why not just "0% Fat?" The "+" is so unnecessary. And the whole thing is still pretty stupid and non-sensical. I did think it was funny that Deep called me to let me know though, hehe.

We kept somewhat busy this weekend, although it was fairly low-key. Cynthia and Steve bought Mario Kart, so we played them online Friday night. It was pretty hilarious trying to figure out how to get us all connected in the first place.

I slept in Saturday morning, although I was woken up (is that proper grammar?) by the sound of Bandit rolling his ball outside and barking (I'm sure our neighbors love it). He stopped for a second, and then I heard our neighbor's kid, Trevor, yell, "Bandit! Roll that ball!" and Bandit started up again. Hilarious.

Marc and I ran a bunch of errands during the day, and Leslie came over in the evening to watch The Great Debaters (there wasn't a whole lot available at Blockbuster). It was pretty meh. A lot of overacting, and a little bit boring.

We spent quite a bit of time with kids this weekend. Our neighbors' kids came over to play Mario Kart at our house Saturday afternoon (they were at our place for 3 hours! Cute as they are, I was pretty fatigued by the time they left, heh) and Sunday we went to Steve and Erin's to celebrate Allison's birthday.

I did manage to watch nearly 8 hours of XF over the weekend. There's 67 days until the movie, and I still have almost 80 episodes left to watch, so I have to keep cranking away. I think it's slowly starting to drive Marc nuts, although I generally try to watch on my own time. There was an old article on The Onion that kind of fits our situation. "X-Files Fan Killed for Knowing Too Much". That could very well end up being me. ;)

Random movie bits - apparently there's talks about a Jurassic Park 4 movie being made, with Laura Dern coming back (I guess they just bring back one star from the first movie for each sequel?). I found both sequels pretty disappointing, so I don't know how excited I am for this one, if it ever gets made.

The new M. Night Shyamalan movie that's coming out, The Happening, is getting roasted in early reviews, which is too bad. I keep hoping he'll get back to making good movies. Also, I liked Mark Wahlberg in The Departed, but apparently he's really, really bad in this flick.

We're going to go see Indy 4 this weekend, which has gotten lukewarm reviews so far. It sounds like it's a perfectly good movie, just not great. So I won't go in with huge expectations.

Hee, because I care ...

I looked more into your yogurt, and I wonder if the + is to make it look more like the sign for female? Because the official name doesn't contain the plus. However, I feel like we'll never know the real truth (but I know the Truth is Out There) ...
