My grandmother turned 90 this past weekend, and we spent pretty much the entire weekend celebrating it. All of my aunts except one came out to visit, and a few of my cousins were in town as well.
Yesterday I was going to blog when I had trouble accessing the site. I thought maybe the site was down again, so I went to check on my Dreamhost account, and found at that the account had been suspended! Turns out that the credit card I had on file had expired a few months ago, and I hadn't made a payment for three months. Their note said, "You should have been e-mailed about this, so hopefully the suspension doesn't come as a surprise." Needless to say, I ended up finding the e-mail in my Yahoo! Trash folder, hehe.
I'm at work today after flying in this morning from LA. I flew down there yesterday for the X-Files panel at the LA Film Fest. Talk about an exhausting 24 hours!
Just got into work after going to the dentist this morning. Part of my mouth is still numb. They put in my new crown, which looks much better than that old metal one I had, and then replaced an old filling. Hmm, the tooth with the filling is starting to tingle now, and I can't say it's exactly a pleasant sensation. Let's hope it doesn't turn into full-on pain.
I've only got a few minutes to write before I have to head to a meeting, so I'm making this quick. Oh, first things first. Been meaning to blog about this for a while. So, we have XM radio in our TL. And the radio display actually shows both the artist and the song title. And one of the stations we have programmed plays new music, but also plays a lot of old stuff from the 70s. And I've come to realize that I know a LOT of Hall and Oates songs.
Well, I managed to fix the header yesterday, yay. Yesterday's debacle was an example of what happens when you forget how nested div's work, heh. Now that I have the site in an MT4 template, I have to say that it's pretty slick. The templates are all basically broken down into modules, so if I want to make changes to a header or footer, I only need to make them in the module, and not have to go and edit every index template.
So as you've no doubt noticed, the layout of the site is completely different, and bonkers. I'm using one of the built-in layouts from MT, but I've been trying to tweak it to customize it a bit. Was having a hell of a time doing it yesterday, and late last night the site decided to crash on me entirely, so I wasn't able to finish. Everything's back up and running now, so I'm hoping to make some additional progress tonight. Just be advised that things might look funky for a while.
Nothing really cohesive to write about today. Work was a bit hectic the past couple of days and I had to skip lunch as a result, so I wasn't able to sit down and write. The good news is, a new experiment I've been working on was successful yesterday, so I'm pretty stoked about that. It takes almost a whole week for me to set this thing up, and the last time I tried it, I used too much DNA and it didn't work very well.
Meant to write about a couple other things yesterday, but just completely forgot. I think I was in a bit of a rush to get to the lab and not all that inspired writing-wise. Hey, I can't be a genius every day.
We actually had a decently productive weekend (ie: not one where we're just busy or completely vegetative). It was rewarding, but ultimately exhausting. We did manage to have fun as well.

Marc and I were eating dinner the other night - I had just sat down and was starting to eat my salad, when Bandit came over, and literally took a piece of bread right off my plate. He did it with me sitting right there! You would've thought we were sharing a plate or something. I was shocked - I think I got up and said, "YOU DID NOT JUST DO THAT."
