My grandmother turned 90 this past weekend, and we spent pretty much the entire weekend celebrating it. All of my aunts except one came out to visit, and a few of my cousins were in town as well.
I got out of work a bit early on Friday and drove home to Dublin to pick Marc up, as he had the day off. The two of us then drove to my aunt's house in Union City where my family was meeting up for a barbecue dinner. There was SO MUCH food. Afterwards we all hung out and had dessert and chatted for a while. I don't think we left until almost midnight.
Marc got up early Saturday morning to go help Leslie move. My brothers are moving in together now that Kenny is being transferred back to the Bay Area. They found an apartment in Sunnyvale, so Leslie needed help moving all his stuff from Menlo Park.
I had to take the kittens to Petsmart so I wasn't able to help (not that I would've been much help anyways, haha). I was there for 4 hours - no luck getting anyone adopted, sadly.
Marc got back home around the same time I did, and after he got showered up we drove down to Milpitas to meet everyone for dinner at some Chinese restaurant. We had three large tables, and our group was sequestered in this corner that was shuttered off, because there was a wedding reception going on in the rest of the room. My grandmother had a lot of friends there, which was pretty cool, and cute.
After dinner, we stopped by my grandmother's house for a little bit, and then all the cousins (and my Uncle Arthur) came back to our place to hang out. We played Rock Band and Cranium late into the night - I don't think I fell asleep until 3 am!
Which made waking up Sunday morning very difficult. I had to get up at 8:30am to take Bandit herding, and it wasn't something I was looking forward to. But it had been weeks since we'd gone, so I had to take him.
Marc and I then drove down to my uncle's house in Fremont for yet more food (and more cake - we had cake three days in a row!). We were an hour late, and yet we were still the first people to show up. Perfect example of my family's chronic tardiness.
But man, I am beat! It was really fun to hang out with all my cousins though, we always have a blast.
