Well, I managed to fix the header yesterday, yay. Yesterday's debacle was an example of what happens when you forget how nested div's work, heh. Now that I have the site in an MT4 template, I have to say that it's pretty slick. The templates are all basically broken down into modules, so if I want to make changes to a header or footer, I only need to make them in the module, and not have to go and edit every index template.
They've also got widgets now (and I don't fully understand how these work) that are basically the elements that live in the side bars. I can drag and drop different elements and rearrange them as I please to customize the side bars. It's very, very cool.
So, I'm still working on changing things, but at least now this thing is presentable. I still want to make further changes so that it's not so generic looking, but it should be easier for me to work on that now. The link to the gallery is missing now, but I might just port everything over to Flickr or something. I think there's a plugin available for that.
I've also added a widget that allows users to register and login to comment. I have no idea if it works or not, so if anyone wants to test it, feel free.
Anyways, I'm sitting here in my office right now waiting for a field engineer to show up, and I have no idea when that's going to be. Sigh.
David Duchovny's new series, "Californication" comes out on DVD today I think. I've got it in my Blockbuster queue. I'm curious to watch it, heh. I remember back in college when my roommates and I watched "Red Shoe Diaries" once. That was hilarious.
Yesterday I got an e-mail from someone about some sort of military contract and all these proposal documents attached to it. At first I thought it was spam (I didn't and haven't downloaded the files), but it definitely seems like this guy just sent me stuff by mistake. I didn't want to be on the receiving end of any further possibly sensitive e-mails (especially given where Marc works, heh), so I e-mailed the guy to let him know. Although it can't have been that bad if he was sending it to personal e-mail accounts. Who knows, maybe it was spam. The guy did e-mail back to apologize though.
I also ended up on some family's vacation planning e-mail list. The originator of the e-mail was also named Bonnie, and I ended up getting everyone's subsequent replies. I finally had to e-mail her to let her know that I wasn't the Bonnie Edwards she was looking for.
This happens quite a bit - guess there are a lot of Bonnie Edwards's out there.
